I passed my NCLEX-PN about 2 months ago. I concentrated on Saunders and LaCharity. I also studied common lab values and common meds-dosages, indications, interactions, etc......Also, in my state, LVN's do pass meds, among other things....:rolleyes:Also, if you are hoping to find an "automatic job", good luck....You may be in for a ''rude awakening", I've been looking and applying for jobs for several months and nothing...!!:crying2:Good luck to you!!:)
I have taken both exams, so here's my perspective.
I took the NCLEX-PN in 2005 and the NCLEX-RN in 2010. The NCLEX-PN was about the same level of difficulty as the NCLEX-RN, so you are possibly headed down the wrong path if you think you're going to take an easier exam. Both require intense study. Studying for NCLEX is like taking on a part-time job: you must devote a significant amount of your personal time to it.
In addition, you might not be making money as soon as you would like. The job market for nurses is crappy in many places.
Hey thanks for the info you should check out nursing homes and home health agencies. Mostly those are the ones who hire LPN's
:)
You know whats funny I am asking myself where is the nursing shortage? Because I dont see much programs for graduate students. Well I pray to god for success because studying and studying and not passing is depressing. Take care
I agree with commuter. I personally feel that you should study for your RN boards. LPN boards are not any easier, nor will it be easier for you to get a job. Please try again for RN boards. Good luck.
I used mosbys and saunder for PN boards. I studied RN nclex questions for the PN as well.

Hello:
I was studying for Nclex Rn and failed twice. So decided to take the Nclex Pn to make some money. But completely lost because only have Nclex Rn books and don't have a clue how to study for Nclex Pn. I bought Saunders Pn last edition and ordered lacharity prioritization book. But I need to know what exactly is the role of the LPN in the Nclex. Study pharmacology? Because I heard that LPN don't administer medication and what exactly do they do??:uhoh21: Study Labs obviously but what else?? Im so lost thinking after passing nursing school everything would be so easy and been 3 years in this loonnnggg roller coaster called Nclex.!
