How about something that will remind her that her most important obligation is to take care of herself. I really mean that. Nurses seem to take care of everyone else and run themselves into the ground. A gift certificate for a series of massages would be an idea. I know you are probably thinking of something 'nursey' and that is really good and kind of you. I'd go for a gift that forces her to nurture herself.
When I finished LPN school- I received two cool gifts. A gift certificate to a uniform shop and an adorable snow babies nurse figurine. The latter helped me get the uniforms I needed for my "new" job- the former started a collection I love to look at and add to all the time. EBay has some really cute things.
Edited for spelling- not enough coffee yet! :)
There are several nice figurines geared toward nursing (major card distributing store) and nice gold necklaces with RN on the charm (most good jewlery stores would know what you wanted). Share in her accomplishment and be supportive of her in her new endeavor. Thats about the best present she could get. She will need support and encouragement from family and friends.
All the above are great. A small calculator and drug reference books are also nice. Most of all, how about making a home made cuopon book. Such as including some of her favorite things. Example: A day at the spa, or one free hair cut. Most of all how about unlimited phone calls to talk with you about when she has had a good or bad day. A back massage by you etc. These are such exciting times for her, but most of all she is going to need the support from you as a friend and boyfriend. PS. I also really liked the idea about the angel necklace stated above. GOOd LUCK!

My girlfriend will graduate with her RN real soon, and I wanted to get her a special gift directly related to nursing. Does anyone have any ideas for what they would like to get or what I should get her? Thanks,
