Ok..new grad..hired on med/surg/ortho floor where I've been an aid for 2+ years. My preceptor is a nun who is about my age..has been a nurse 10years and knows ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. Last night after charting was caught up, I came up with "stump the nun". I tried everything I could think of from 'what is bence jones test used for' to 'where does byetta come from?' and she knew EVERYTHING. LOL Please help me STUMP MY NUN!! I love her to pieces..and think she's brilliant. I even have a dance prepared for when I finally stump her!! We have so much fun together...:) How lucky am I?!?!

You are very lucky indeed!
Does it have to be a nursing related question? If not, ask her to recite the Nicene Creed, solo. One very slow afternoon at my children's CCD classes, we discovered that NO ONE, not even our priest was able to do this correctly on the first try. We could all recite it fine in a group, but alone, everyone made mistakes!
Keep us posted. This sounds like fun!
Based on your user profile, I think you may be working in the hospital where my Mom attended nursing school!

I taught religious education, in my parish, for several years. Two of my students and one of our parish priest were able to recite it correctly. But since our priest was born, raised, and took his holy vows in Ireland, he wouldn't dare not to be able to recite it.

You may have already stumped her if she said that Byetta comes from the Gila monster. Exenatide (Byetta) is a synthetic analog of exendin-4 which was found in the saliva of the Gila monster and is similar to the human incretin hormone GLP-1. If she said that Byetta is manufactured in the lab by Amlyn Phamaceuticals, then you didn't stump her!

oooooohhh. I remember trying to stump the Nun from my Catholic school days, and the feel of the ruler across my knuckles when we succeeded!
Be careful, piss off a nun, feel the fires of hell. ROFLOL
Better start saying your Hail Mary's now girl! ROFLOL
Funny...I always tell people "You don't want to anger the nun!" LOL
