I did Saunders with my nursing exams, used Kaplan's review book and 3 week NCSBN online, which I find extremely challenging, considering moving my NCLEX one more week....ugh...

I take it sometime in feb. I haven't signed up for it yet :( Did u find the ncbsn questions to be easier than the ones on saunders?

I reviewed of the exam cram book by pearson along with used the saunders CD on study mode. I would answer anywhere between 200-300 questions a day for three weeks. I felt that was more then enough to get me in the right mind set for my NCLEX. I took my NCLEX on October 4, 2011 and found out that I passed the very next day. It stopped at 86 questions.

When you go to take your NCLEX, take a deep breath, hold it, then let it out slowly. I feel that helps with the stress. Make sure you read and understand the questions before you answer them. Don't rush through the questions either. If you don't know the answer to a question pick B or the most wordy answer.

Don't move your NCLEX date, you were able to make it through school. You know this stuff, if you put off taking your NCLEX it will become a dragon. I know the fear of the unknown is pretty scary. I thought about moving my test date but I was happy I just took it and got it over with. After you pass you will feel like you can finally live again, if you know what I mean. I also did have that roller coaster of emotions while I took my NCLEX. Some I knew, others I felt so-so about, and some questions I wanted to break down and cry. You can do it!

I found NCSBN to have the most challenging questions so far, with Kaplan's questions a bit easier and Saunders to be the easiest

I didn't purchase a large package from Kaplan, I only did the one free online test that I was given with my Kaplan's NCLEX Strategy and Review book and I scored 65%. With NCSBN I score anywhere from the 50-70s, and Saunders during my nursing exams was almost 90% or higher.

Did you mainly stick to the Saunders CD? I've been doing that every day and on the exams my grades range from 65 - 85 %.. Any advice would be awesome!

Hey Rita1015,

That cram book by pearson I thought was really dry. I read that whole book and I was kinda sucking when I was answering those questions, which was making me worried. That's why I turned to the Saunders CD on study mode. The book that came with that CD I want to burn and I felt that they gave you way too much information.

Personally, I think if your grades are ranging between 65-85% you will do fine on your NCLEX. I was talking with one of my classmates who took the NCLEX before me and she was telling me information she found out when she was asking around. You need at least a 50% to pass your NCLEX. If you are getting at least that or more you are set.

Make sure you do know your lab values, how to do dosage calcuations, and be sure to practice all of the select all that apply questions on Saunders to get yourself comfortable with them. (they are evil...and that's all I'll say about that)

Everyone studies and learn's differently but this is what I did and it helped me a lot to pass my NCLEX. If you want to talk more about it, feel free to PM me.

I'm not really getting very far on the questions on the saunders CD....averaging about 20 questions a day. How fast or slow are you guys going who are getting in about 200 questions a day?

I plan on starting to study next week. I will start with the Hurst Review. I just heard about this and I will start with it and then move to Kaplan.

But a friend doing Kaplan does 75 questions a day and spends 4 hours doing that. About 1 hour doing the questions and the other 3 hours is examining the rationale and looking up stuff he didn't know.

i am using the hurst review and it is the best review so far. If you ever want to study together please let me know. what state are u from?
