Hello,
wow! I've missed this site like crazy, but I'm glad to be back. Over the period of my absence, I got my CNA/HHA certification in California with no job....:-(
Please, can someone help me find schools in Murrieta/Temecula/Riverside area with LVN and RN programs? Possibly, BSN too?
How much do these schools cost and do they take international students for their program?
Also, I'll love to know if there are jobs around these areas that need CNAs and HHA's. Thanks so much

Hi,
I thought I should reply since no one has. I don't live in California but I am thinking of relocating there when I graduate.
Firstly, I am thinking you may get more replies if you posted in the California forum instead of this general forum.
Secondly, the best and possibly easiest way to get all the information you need regarding schools is to check the California board of nursing for their approved programs. That way you can see a list of all the schools and check out the ones in the areas you are considering.
Regarding jobs, I think your best bet is to just google hospitals in or near whichever area you want and check their job listings. You may also get some help from the California forum.
Hope this helps. Anyway, this is how I normally get information; and when I have some general information, then I can post/ask for more specific info.
Goodluck

SSN isn't a work permit. What visa did you enter the US enabling you to stay? Should also state on your SSN card whether you are eligible to work or not.
If F1 as you state in the title you still need EAD allowing you to work
A social security number is not a work permit but you need a SSN to work. As an international student you are not eligible to work off-campus unless you are authorised by USCIS (immigration).
Do you have an employment authorization document? If you are not a US citizen, permanent resdent and you don't have an EAD then it means you don't have a work permit.
Since I don't have all the information, this is just general information. You can also check the USCIS webste or speak to an international student advisor at your school.
Hope this helps.

the best way to get an employment authorization as an F1 student is o finish your program and ask for an OPT permit. that will allow you to legally work for about 1 year.
OPT has to be applied for before you complete your program, usually 4-6 months before you graduate you apply for it and no guarantee you will get it
