Im taking my NCLEX-RN on the 29th and I'm a foreign grad too. Let's hope and pray for the best, that we'll pass this test. God bless you

Either you are ready or not. At this point you need to think about it and if you decide that you are insufficiently prepared, then consider rescheduling. Best of luck.

I know how you feel because I'm foreign too and my exam date is the 29th too. I studied sanders, Kaplan book and exam cram book.even though I feel confident, sometimes I think it's not enough to pass. Good luck and if you wanna check answers or any thing let me know so we may study via msn if you want.

sounds like for you that you have done alot in prep for this test and i can bet that you worked very hard in school. honestly after taking NCLEX I really felt that you cant really prepare for it that much. either your learned the stuff going through school or not. I think you just need to relax and make sure you sleep the night b4 your test!!!!!!!!

I graduated 2 years ago. 2 years! I am an American national but struggled through nursing school. I am a horrible test taker and didnt have even a 90% grasp of nursing core content and barley graduated. I have taken the NCLEX-RN twice and failed both times. I have depression and anxiety so you can possibly imagine how its affected me. Some advice, you can take it or not:

*Make sure you have a good understanding of the core content, if not

review what your weakest points are, and also look into the hurst review. It may be a little late to take the class because you testing in 8 days, but you can buy a review book at boarders that will highlight some strategies. Also reviews and rationals books have highlights of info from med surg and other text books from nursing school.

*Dont talk yourself into failing before you've even taken it. That really hurt me, I kept tyring to tell myself " you'll pass you'll do fine", but in reality I was dreading the test and felt like I was going to fail before I even started.

*Take some time for yourself. You cant study 24/7 and not expect to be burnt out or depressed.

*Get some exercise.

*Talk to your family, or friends, someone you know will help boost your self confidence. It is hard to go into the test if you have none.

*The NCLEX is nothing like the test prep or school test or review questions you've done. There are ultimately 4 correct answers and you have to pick the best one via process of elimination etc.

*Keep your head up, and I know it sounds bad, but the worst thing that can happen is you fail. If so, you may better know what to focus on and have a better understanding of what to prepare for once you know what the test is like. Just make sure you try to study enough and remember, you cant memorize everything. Try to memorize the basic side effects, and endings of medication classes as well as their action and function and interactions.

*Get enough sleep the night before, maybe go out with a friend and have a drink or 2 and dinner, but dont over do it on the drinks. This will help you relax some and try to keep telling yourself, "I'll do great, I just need to relax".

I'm currently doing the Hurst review and working full time and helping my fiance run our own business, but I plan on taking it again in the next 3 months and I WILL pass!

Good luck and I'm sure you'll do great!!! If you want to talk just PM me.

I just took my NCLEX and my classmates that have taken it have passed. We all did Kaplan and found that the questions are more NCLEX like. You sound like you have prepared yourself well. Now you just need to trust yourself. I get really bad anxiety too so my nurse friends gave me this advice for the test: DO NOT CRAM the day before, in fact try to do something that will take your mind off of it for that day. Make a test drive to the test site so you are not lost or rushing and know exactly where to go the morning of the test. Make sure you have your paperwork, ID, and whatever else you need the night before. TRY to get a good nights rest and then wake up in the morning with enough time to eat breakfast. Go into that test like you know the info because you do. Read the questions carefully, some questions may ask about statements that demonstrate the patient understands the instructions but some may ask which statement by the patient shows need for further instruction.A few words can change the meaning of a question. DO NOT compare yourself to others. If you see others getting up and leaving don't worry, your test and their test are different. You can do this, be positive and believe in yourself!

i am also taking my nclex soon, and a foreign grad like you. ive been out of school for 3 years and half and ive been struggling on my review. i took nclex and also taking tests on saunders. im scared. im very scared. i get 50-70s on qbanks but get on 50s on Qtrainer. on saunders, im doing 50-60s and some 70s but i still feel i have to study more because i keep on getting Qs that im not even familiar with at all. this is my 2nd by the way. the first time, i didnt study at all (problems on my application.i was approved, then sent me another letter, said i was denied but i got approved 1 month before my test. yeah its crazy). now im all scared 'cause i know the feeling of failing. i got around 3 'audio' questions, couple select all that applies, couple pharma, and others. im just praying i will pass...

good luck to all of us
