1. What is your title?
2. What are your nursing responsibilities?
3. Are you an hourly or salary employee?
4. How long have you worked on this unit/dept? How lonf have you worked for this company?
5. What continuing education and certifications are you required to have for this position?
6. What advice would you give a new nursing student?
7. Anything you would like to add?

I'm not a nurse yet, but surprised that as a jr in a BSN program, you'd be asked to ask those kinds of questions to a professional. IMO, if you've gotten that far, you've researched or talked to Nurses enough to answer those sorts of questions or know where to go to find the answers. Though, I do see this as a way to network or meet other professionals, I'm just surprised it's an assignment. But then again, what do I know. haha. :roll

Director of Nursing for 120 bed Nursing Home
RN, BSN, CDONA
Overall management of all the staff within the facility. Writing and updating policies as needed, making certain all the needs of the residents are met with nursing care that is in compliance with state and federal regulations. Job description is 4 pages long, too much to list here.
Salaried. work about 50 hours a week on average.
4. How long have you worked on this unit/dept? How long have you worked for this company?
Been in management over 10 of 17 years as an RN
Only been with current employer a bit over 2 months.
I am always doing continuing education in management type courses. No special certifcations, but I do have certifcation as aDON in nursing administration. A BSN is desired, but not required to be in management.
Don't give up no matter how hard it will get. Nothing easy has ever proven to be worthwhile.
We have to work harder for those things we want most.
Good Luck to you in school.
