  1. Between the first bachelor degreee and the BSN that I just earned, it brings my grand total up to $35,000 It was about $20,000 for just the BSN. I regret the first degree as I was never able to find a job in that area, but the nursing degree is well worth the money.
  2. Take it from the girl who has attended seven different colleges; your gpa will continue to be added on. There will not be two seperate gpas. I had a few party hard college years for my first degree and now, even though I have continualy made the dean's list for my bsn, I will never be able to graduate with honors because of those first few years.
  3. There is another post somewhere talking about z-coils and how great they are, but to be aware as one nurse managed to pull out an IV by getting the tubing caught in the coil. It's around here somewhere, try a search for z-coils. BTW, I LOVE my Danskos and can't imagine wearing wanything else. Heather
  4. If you like tevas, you will love the danskos. Not only are they comfortable, but they look good. Well worth the money as they will last you for many years. Good luck in school!
  5. This is something that I have thought about too. I'm from CA and it's so expensive to live in that state, but I would love to be close to my family again. Any travel nurses out there, I would be very interested in this info as well.
  6. Great info sheets! I will be using these for clinicals. Thanks!
  7. USC Upstate in Spartanburg doesn't have a waiting list. They take you on gpa and credentials and if you don't get in one semester, just re-apply next semester. The only problem with the school is they are starting a new cirriculum and are still working the kinks out of it to the dismay of the students. Good Luck!
  8. I spent about $1000 on books, supplies, unifroms and a good stethascope. I know it sounds painfull, but it will be well worth it in the end and you will keep your books and stethascope for many years to come. And remember to save your receipts because it's all a write-off on your taxes!
  9. Thank you all so much for the great answers for my assignment! And thank you for the well wishes in school, I'm sure I will need it! Heather
  10. I am a junior at in a BSN program amd I need to have few questions answered by an RN for a class project. Any help would be so greatly appreciated. The questions are: 1. What is your title? 2. What are your nursing responsibilities? 3. Are you an hourly or salary employee? 4. How long have you worked on this unit/dept? How lonf have you worked for this company? 5. What continuing education and certifications are you required to have for this position? 6. What advice would you give a new nursing student? 7. Anything you would like to add? Thank you so much! Heather
  11. I used to work at Sharp Grossmont in the lab! Great hospital, and great staff. The only gripe I had about the place was an arrogant ED Dr. whom I avoided like the plague (no names!). Good luck and I'm sure you'll love it there!
  12. What does that mean?
  13. It sounds like the family didn't really care at all. Those who prosest too much, are usually trying to hide the truth. Their loud and dramatic grief may have just been a show to everyone else that "See, we really do care, listen to how much pain we are in". But, that's just my internet psychologist's opinion.

My 27 year old cousin slept with her parents when she was a kid. And when she was a teenager. And to this day she still sleeps with them. Very odd. I have a complex about letting my 2 year old son sleep with us because of her. I wish I didn't because I love it when he gets up in the middle of the night if he had a bad dream or something and climbs into bed with us, standing at the side of the bed with his stuffed elmo saying "wanna sleep up there with you". But I still get a twinge and think of my cousin who is so strange. I'm not saying she's strange because of the co-sleeping, but I do relate it to that. Guess I'm gonna have to put a stop to it before he goes to college:) .
