hello guys and thanks for posting all these words of encouragement on this site. i wish i came here before sitting for NCLEX the first time but that didn't happen. i thought i was ready. did kaplan did ok on qbank 60's-70's in the qtrainers so i thought i was ready. went in had 94 q's found out the next day failed. i check plenty of times thinking it was a mistake because i could not believe it. from browsing that same day i see this site and decide to join. i needed that since no one could help me in this tough time since i didn't tell anyone i was taking it. now i'm so scared to sit the second time. i did lacharity, saunders, reread the book for kaplan, cram master is too easy, i do davis which is hard i find myself doing high 40's to high 50's. my report from pearson have a lot of near passing and 2 below passing in safe infection and psychological. please help i don't have money to keep on taking the test and my friends all pass. i'm feeling dumb right now. can anyone help me any advice would be greatly appreciated. i also work, have a 3 year old so it's a lot to manage:mad::crying2::down:

If you are persistent, you will pass. Don't give up.

thanks i did exam cram i think it is easy cause i have excellent in everything, lacharity is kinda hard but i did ok. i only did two case studies though. i need something that is inexpensive because i can't spend any big money. i have the hurst/kaplan book.

If you're lookng for tougher questions, I would recommend Davies 2010.

Don't give up, there are some free resources out there- not sure if they will help but I've included a couple, also there is a facebook page dedicated to those taking the nclex, look there for ideas, I did a web search for specific kinds of questions to help my daughter and got some good results. In the end I bought her the Kaplan review- do you have family, friends or a church family that will help you financially so you can pay for some help? Good luck to you-

To make you feel better, I failed with 75 the first time. I felt pretty dumb but then I buckled down and spent 300 on the Hurst online review which really helped me get back in the nursing school groove. It's not only a content review it helped me understand things in the simplest of terms. I went to a nice 4-year school and still never had content presented to me in the way hurst review did. Along with that I used the lacharity book everyday three weeks leading up to the test. Read the rationales like my life depended on it. Lastly I bought the Kaplan '10-'11 strategy book. It helped me to take a step back and look at nursing questions differently. I'm proud to say I took the NCLEX last night and according to the PVT trick, I passed with only 75 questions! Don't get wrong it was sooo hard! But it was a big turnaround for me in literally 4 weeks. You can do it too!

maybe you just have to put a little more focus and always put God in center of it :) Nursing students are not DUMB! so you are not. Just think and think that you can do it. Positive thoughts, happy moments, encouragements and a break, for once in a while :) You can pass dude! WE CAN PASS! :)

Congrats on finishing the program. My instructor always use to say that you can do anything it all depends on how bad do you want it. If I can do it you can do TRUST ME you can do it. You said you have a 3 yr old & you work. I was expecting, had FIVE children-yes, five! I worked 12 hr shifts fr, sa, su & one 8hr shift on Wed's 4p-12a. My husband had gotten arrested TWO days before my entrance exam. By term 2 he was sentenced 2020. Anyone in a nursing program knows term 3 is usually the last cut-that's when YOU decide to just drop out. I decided to let him go & think of my children. I was in the TOP THREE of my class. Everyone was ALWAYS amazed @ how I did it. If I can do it. You can do it. I had a 1, 2, 3, 6 & 10 yr old plus a pregnancy. I studied, my children helped me & we did our victory dance when I passed. Keep your head up and believe in yourself. The Lord is STILL into making miracles........good luck
