HELP: How Extensive Are Hiring Background Checks?

Published

So, I'm a Nursing Student and recently in addition to my waitressing job, I started doing like camgirl stuff online. Do you think I could be fired as a RN in the future? Or it could come up in a background check and hinder my employment majorly? I've made over $400 on the camming website so I'm required to file taxes eventually and I guess I'm just scared I could lose my RN license one day. I just don't want anything to jeopardize my dream but I also would like to be able to stay in school so I can reach it. I realize now I jumped into this head first before really thinking of the consequences, but now I need to decide to continue doing it or stopping.

I guess any general advice would be wonderful to ease (or fuel) my anxiety. Thank you!

I know of someone personally who stripped to earn money while in school, then was in the middle of a code or something when the surgeon recognized her. I think they both laughed a bit and nothing came of it because if he outed her then he himself would be outed.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant that I couldn't care less about your relationship...but yes I do hope that you are not this inconsiderate to those you encounter in the professional world.

Why would I be? Why would I go up to my patient & say oh look at you whore! Really? Don't you think I separate my personal life from my work life? But if you are only a pre-nursing student you wouldn't know that.

Lol why yes I am only a pre-nursing student who will, this fall, begin a wonderful ABSN program. However, being able to separate work from personal life is a skill needed in not only the nursing field as you have so ignorantly implied. On that note, you have a great night.

Whereas I have been a nurse for 5 years. Considering we are going for the same vocation, nursing, and nowhere in your profile does it state that you have a previous job or degree nor am I a mind reader.

Do I have to separate you two? ;D

If it's not one person it's someone else. LOL! :p

I said I was stubborn.

There's a difference between being stubborn and just making ignorant statements because you can. You being an LVN for 5 years does not make your opinion any better than that of a pre-nursing student on her way to being an RN. Do you know more about the nursing field at this moment? Yes. Do you have experience on nursing matters? Yes. But that does not mean your thoughts are any more valid (obviously )

I didn't know she had any work experience. I even checked her profile before making the comment. Had I had known that I wouldn't have made that comment. I looked & all I saw was 'pre-nursing'. So no, I am not ignorant.

And OMG you again, go harass someone else.

Well we're just going to have to agree to disagree on that statement. :)

No. I actually looked up her profile. Nowhere does is say ANYTHING about her current/previous job. I was trying NOT to be ignorant. I'm not a mind reader, I don't personally know her. I didn't know until after than comment she was enrolling in an ABSN program. If I would've known BEFOREHAND that she was employed but not in a nursing capacity I would've taken the conversation a different route. But you sit up on you horse thinking you're better than everyone & you can't see that.

Now go ride off on the horse you came in on & harass someone else.
