So I was late to apply to my Spring semester Microbiology, the last class I need before nursing school. The only teacher available was a notorious strict one, her rate my professor is full of students saying even if you do get the right answer, she will still find a way to take points off! And my neighbor made me scared about her too he said oh that lady? ya nobody ever gets an A in her class only a B or C! A lot of other reviews saying people who even got an A in all other science classes struggle to get a C in this one with this teacher! Keep in mind all other classes are already full from many colleges so I have no choice but to take her and *** up my GPA, or wait til another semester but that will waste 4 months you know? And will set me back many months in the nursing school applications window, but at the same time if I drop her class of get a bad grade that will be even worse... I don't know what to do!

Yuck. I'm sorry. If a professor is that bad, with my experience, I'd wait a semester. Nursing was my first love. After a video of a man shoving a huge needle into his body in a community college psychology class, I thought that I could not overcome my fear of needles and didn't pursue any further prenursing classes at 19 and turned towards computer science. I did nice with my first prereqs with CS. My networking professor my first year / first day at a university after CC smirked that  75% of the people in his class  wouldn't be passing it. I guess I was one of  the 75%. Wasted money and time. I should have withdrawn then. Honestly, I would have been  a miserable person to pursue the CC thing anyways. I like people too much. I guess he did me a favor unbeknownst. I'd say if she's this bad, it's worth it to sit a semester out. Is there another course in a nearby college that you could take and transfer? Just a thought?

im waiting to hear back from my college if they would accept the course through an online school westcostt courses or something, im pretty sure they won't since its an online lab and doesn't actually have a real teacher or real lechures, so im pretty sure they won't accept it then I'm not sure what I will do in that case wait a semester or what, ?

Drop the class

I had a similar experience with my Microbiology instructor. It was my last prerequisite before starting Nursing School in September. It was an afternoon class in July. The instructor had the nerve to come in one day and tell us that she was unhappy because she would rather be swimming in her pool! We were never able to see any of our test results and had to wait until the course was over to know our overall grade. Crazy! I was an older student in the Summer of 2000 and hadn't been in college since I graduated in 1980, so I really didn't kn ow if I could switch to another professor. My Microbiology professor was horrible, and trust me, nothing in nursing school came close to that crazy class/instructor. Ironically, Microbiology was very important for me, besides the basic knowledge that nurses need. I have worked in infection control and as a sepsis coordinator. I would suggest that if you can switch to another class or take the Microbiology course at another school, do it! Please check with your current school/nursing school to be sure that they will take credits from another accredited school. Generally prerequisites are transferrable.  All the best for a successful nursing future!
