I got Acceted into LPN school , they sent out over 150 rejection letters but I got a good letter, however I have all my pre reqs done for the RN degree and i am 2 classes shy of getting my AA, All my friends are telling me that I dont need to take that seat and keep pn for rn might I add that I have been denied 2 times now for RN , its just so hard to get into, also I have founds out since I have taken college credit anatomy, nutrition and human growth and I am a CNA I am exempted from that part of the LPN classes, so While everyone takes 7 classes I will only have 3, I thought that was good, another thing is at least i have the confidence that once I am done with LPN I can bridge over meaning that most lpns have to go take college algenra acollege anatomy and on and on for there pre reqs well I will already be finished, so what do you guys think I should do about thsi negative talk, I mean I said I got accepted into nursing school and one girl said RN I said NO LPN she said that is not Nursing school dont be saying you got accepted, but My letter said Congrats you have been accepted into the practical nursing progra, Please someone boost my spirit , isnt a LPN a NURSE!! good gosh so many people think LPN arent nurses, well I am happy but need some comments from nurses to tell me what route I should go!! Thanks

Adam do not give up your seat. You can go LPN to RN when you get done. LPNs are nurses, so don't listten to them. However, with an RN you will make more money and have more job opportunities, so get that RN quickly. But if you can't get into RN school now, then LPN to RN is a good way. :)

i believe that LPN's are nurses!! i don't know why people don't believe it. But if i were you i might go for the LPN and then do the bridge program after that. It depends on what you want. i mean i would do the program and continue to apply to RN school. Then work as an lpn make better money then a CNA and do the whole bridge thing when your done. i don't know about it, but don't let one person who says lpn aren't nurses ruin your view of lpn. i mean Licensed Practical NURSE!!! How much more obvious do they have to make it that an LPN is a nurse!!

I somehow had a bit of the different problem. When i was choosing to go to school i decided on a 4year BSN. i had people who weren't nurses or even in the health care field tell me that i should do the lpn thing and work my way up. They said why don't you do a ADN or something then let the hospital pay!! I was like i just graduated from high school. i have time now. i want to get my MSN, so BSN was the only way and i would spend less time just being in one program then going from 1 to the next to the next!! Everyone in the healthcare field that i talked to said get that BSN and they told me which school to go to also, which is the one i wanted. (there's 2 BSN's within 25 minutes of each other where i live)

So do what's good for you, and don't let others tell you that an LPN's not a nurse!!

I have seen in the last 11 years LPN's are being phazed out where I work. Yes, you can always get a job- clinic work or nursing homes, but make sure that is something you are willing to do until you can get your RN. I was an LPN and was made to go back to school because our ER was no longer " using

' LPN's in their care model anymore. Do I regret it? God, no. Best thing I ever did for myself.

Hi Adam,

No way would I give up my seat especially since you've applied to the RN program before and didn't accepted. Wishing you the best with whatever you decide, Jules

Hi Adam,

First my congratulations on your admission to the LPN program.

Second, while I am now a RN ADN, BSN , I was first a LPN. So if you have not already sent your acceptance letter to the school, go ahead and send it, and like myself, you will eventually fulfill your dream of having RN behind your name!

Again my sincere congratulations,

Reigen

congratulations my friend! please. Don't let anyone steal your joy.

That happened to me. I got accepted to LPN and school while my application to RN school was pending. Once I got the letter that I was accepted into RN school I gave up my spot in LPN school to another student. Lucky for me I had time to do that before LPN school actually started. I wouldn't have risked giving up LPN school in the hopes that I "might" get accepted into RN school. It's too risky and, like you, I had been turned down twice before. As you also said, you can always later take a bridge program to become an RN.

At any rate, congratulations! What a great opportunity.

LPN's are nurses!!!! i'd rather work with a LPN that took pride in her work than a RN what could care less

Thanks so much guys for all your words of Encouragment, I am finally a NURSING student and I am so excited , thanks for the spirit lift, I am glad this is on here, because family who is not going for nursing really dont know the hurdles you have to jump and the rejections letters that you get can be so depressing , so Thanks to all of you , and may god bless all of you!!!
