I have not read the LaCharity book. In nursing school, I was taught that the Rn assesses and teaches. However, in the real world, depending on facility, Lpns teach/assess. For Nclex, stick with Rn only.

Perhaps you should consider giving yourself more time to prepare. One week out you should be wrapping it up. Sounds like you opened a can of worms for yourself by getting the LaCharity book so late. Give yourself some time to figure it out.

Someone included on the random fact file that Rn's should not delegate anything they can EAT
E= evaluate
A = Assess
T = teach
I found that this helped whilst doing practice exams!!!!

Basically stick with that RN's do the teaching to be on the safe side. Read the rationales in the LaCharity book and I think it is very, very basic teaching that LPN's can do. (This is in NCLEX world and not the real world) They also reinforce what the RN already has taught. I remember coming across this issue when I did the Kaplan strategy book and then also the LaCharity. I found some things answer wise that I disagreed with based on my knowledge in the Kaplan book so I focused more on LaCharity. I think LaCharity explained it pretty well with their rationales.
