Help cbd oil user!!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi! I’m currently in a nursing program. I work at a hospital and I am a CNA, I was falsely accused of smelling like liquor and my managers reported that to hr, so I was required to submit a breathalyzer test and a UA. My breathalyzer test came out negative, but my UA came out positive for thc. I DO NOT SMOKE WEED because I know better and I know that it is a no, no when it comes down to nursing. I take Cbd oil/hemp oil to relieve stress and anxiety and have been doing it for a while now. I purchased it online through amazon and I also vape it. The cbd oil And hemp oil I have been taking has no thc in it from what I was told. I’m in a nursing program and had to take a drug test for school and that came out negative!! From this point on, what is going to happen! I’m very concerned! I worked very hard to get where I am today and now this, because of cbd oil.

My suggestion: honesty. Tell like it is.

Anytime someone gets a fail they should automatically retest to rule out error, however, some don't care. If the test was in error you are being punished for something you did not do. In school, you pay a fortune to attend and so this should not be taken lightly. I would seek out an attorney if the school does not fix this, and make the school pay the legal fees. In the future I would be cautious about supplements as well.

Good luck

The OP failed a drug test. What do you want the school to "fix"? Heck if saying it was CBD oil was all it took no one would fail a drug test. Oh and good luck "making the school pay your legal fees". If she made a major error or sentinel event at work they will make you give a UA right then. And if you pop hot you are under the influence. Look at Alcohol. Alcohol is legal, but you can't be under the influence at work.

Generalizations and attacking one another solves nothing. Let's keep the poster in mind, eh?

I misunderstood her post. I thought she failed a test at the school, not her job. If that was the case and then the school would have been responsible. You would not "make the school pay", your attorney would seek that.

But then I already cleared that up when she explained it to me.

The point was also made that she retested elsewhere and was negative. This indicates that her failed test was in error. She did nothing wrong.

Did your workplace reflex that initial immunoassy positive to a GC/MS test? If the GC/MS test was positive you are going to have a very hard time making a case that it was CBD oil.

I think I would go to five different places and pay for five different tests, myself.

She applied at a different facility and passed the pre-employment drug screen. Sloppy lab work seems to be all too common unfortunately. With that in mind, anytime there is a fail, a immediate retest should be conducted in my opinion.

I know there are a lot if people who think if a person fails a test they are automatically guilty, but I like to give the benefit of the doubt until all other possibilities are ruled out. We are talking about people's lives here.
