Help cbd oil user!!

Published

Hi! I’m currently in a nursing program. I work at a hospital and I am a CNA, I was falsely accused of smelling like liquor and my managers reported that to hr, so I was required to submit a breathalyzer test and a UA. My breathalyzer test came out negative, but my UA came out positive for thc. I DO NOT SMOKE WEED because I know better and I know that it is a no, no when it comes down to nursing. I take Cbd oil/hemp oil to relieve stress and anxiety and have been doing it for a while now. I purchased it online through amazon and I also vape it. The cbd oil And hemp oil I have been taking has no thc in it from what I was told. I’m in a nursing program and had to take a drug test for school and that came out negative!! From this point on, what is going to happen! I’m very concerned! I worked very hard to get where I am today and now this, because of cbd oil.

Just read, or heard, recently something about CBD oil allowed or having up to 3% THC content. Perhaps traces build up over time? I don't know but I certainly would be very aware of this possibility if I wanted to take a chance with using the substance. Something to think about.

That is one of the big problems with supplements, they can have anything in them. Look at all the vaping related issues in the news because of impure products and no regulation! You could explain it to your school and bring in the products that you used but chances are they won't listen. You should seek out an attorney on this, I would. It may also have nothing to do with the CBD products. It may just be a messed up lab test. Try getting a different lab test ASAP, if it comes out negative you can use it to create doubt on their part.

Read the fine print on those bottles of CBD oil. They may have trace of other components that will cause a positive test.

I took a drug test for school right after, so can I use that?

No, they will just say you could have smoked weed after you started the program. I would get re tested at a different clinic. You will have to pay for it but if their test was in error it could save you from being removed from the program. Also as others have said, it could be an impure batch you got and it built up un your system. If you get a negative retest, take the results to the school and show them. If they don't let you back into the school after a neg test, get an attorney. You need to do ASAP since time is a critical factor. Anyway, that will rule out a bad test as the culprit.

good luck.

I had a meeting with my managers today and they immediately terminated me and they are reporting it to the state board of nursing. They would not allow me to retest and they wouldn’t even acknowledge that I tested negative on my results for school! I got another job and there test results came out negative as well!! The DON advised me that I get in contact with the state board of nursing within 48 hours and I’m going to do that today!!

I also took my school drug test after they tested me.

Anytime someone gets a fail they should automatically retest to rule out error, however, some don't care. If the test was in error you are being punished for something you did not do. In school, you pay a fortune to attend and so this should not be taken lightly. I would seek out an attorney if the school does not fix this, and make the school pay the legal fees. In the future I would be cautious about supplements as well.

Good luck

The school is not the one that terminated and reported to the board. OP had a positive screen at work but a negative one for school.

OP would be wise to investigate what happens now and how his/her future may be affected before sinking money into school.

Thanks for this, I’m looking into it now.
