Hello,
It has been a while since I have posted but I am currently on disability because I have Epilepsy and I struggled with it for a majority of my life but I am controlled and did graduated with my RN,BSN. Although I have not worked as a nurse yet because I wanted to finish school before coming off disability, in the past school and work at the same time was too difficult with my condition to juggle. But now that I am 36, and I am ready to work I am considering having a child, which could be a high risk pregnancy for me, my question is that if I do put off starting my career as a RN will it be very difficult to get a job once I am ready? What is the best option in someone else's opinion on how to manage both? I do want to pursue my career in nursing especially since I have been in school for 4 years for this, but I also would like to have children and I am getting older. Since I will be a high risk pregnancy I don't know if it would be wise to come off the disability when I might have to go back on it, this is my reason for my hesitation on getting a job asap. Thank you in advance and any input would be greatly appreciated

The sooner you start working the better- career wise. Putting off that first job is indeed a risky move and can really limit the type of positions available to you.
Best wishes!

The longer you delay starting working in nursing, the harder it will be for you to find a job and transition from student to working RN. Only you know whether that's a bigger priority for you than a pregnancy. Best wishes!
