There are as many answers to your question as there are people in WA. :)
First where you live, are there LPN schools? They are usually but not always associated in technical colleges. Where you took your Medical assistant courses, was that a similar situation? I mean are they college credits? If so when you decide on the schools you want to look at, then ask them to evaluate your transcript. I'm about as far across the country from you as I could be so you are going to have to do some looking around.
What is the best way to start LPN classes?.. Tech?...whats the difference between LVN and LPN???
Can one transfer credits from an MA diploma??..I was told in the beginning that medical assisting is a brige or gateway.
There are no MA to LPN programs that I am aware of, but general education courses like Anatomy and Physiology or General Psychology do transfer. LPN programs are usually through technical schools. LVN stand for Licensed Vocational Nurse while LPN means Licensed Practical Nurse. There is not difference between the two besides California and Texas use the term LVN's while every other state uses the term LPN's. Of course scope of practice varies from state-to-state.
LPN= Licensed Practical Nurse. They are educated through some community colleges as in GRCC and probably others.
LVN= Licensed Vocational Nurse. They get their education through technical colleges like Bates, or Cloverpark.
I have heard that LPNs are preferred over LVN's, due to the programs in LPN being more intense. Not sure if that is true, really or one thinking they are better than the other, lol.
