do you mean Helicobacter pylori ?
A bacterium which is often found in the lining of the stomach or duodenum. It is able to resist the acid in the stomach that would normally kill germs. It is thought that this germ affects the lining of the stomach and duodenum in some way allowing the acid to cause inflammation and ulcers. By getting rid of this germ, many people have been cured of their indigestion or ulcers.
Treatment in the UK is usually a combination of two or three medicines is needed to completely get rid of it. One of the medicines in the 'combination therapy' reduces the acid level in the stomach. This allows the other antibiotic medicines taken at the same time to work well. The course needs to be taken for at least on week to be effective. It is important to finish the course for the best chance of success. Combination therapy can clear H. Pylori in up to 9 in 10 affected people if taken correctly for the full course.
this info is obtained from a fact sheet I give my patients if they ask about it

H. pylori (Helicobacter pylori) is a bacteria that can cause digestive illnesses, including gastritis and peptic ulcer disease . But even though H. pylori can cause these illnesses, experts believe that most H. pylori infections are "silent" and produce no symptoms. So anyone, including a child, can have an H. pylori infection without knowing it. When the bacteria do cause symptoms, they are usually either symptoms of gastritis or peptic ulcer disease.
I once read a study that people that have H. pylori infections can pass it to another by kissing.......So you kiss someone and give them gastritic or PUD..And i thought mono was all you had to worry about as a kid.
Yes, that is it! Thandks for the info. How do you get this?

I don't know how bad it is, but I have had it, found out I had it when I had an EGD after a long time having heartburn. But it was taken care of with tetracylcine, peptobismal, and prilosec.

It's everywhere but there's no need to treat it unless there are symptoms.
