No kiddin!

Hey my son just signed up for the Army in May, he grad from basic in Sept. (had broken his hand so he was recycled). Now he's at AIT in GA. What did you do in the Army?

I was a light wheel vehicle mechanic. HMMVW (Humvee), LMTV's, 5 tons( they really don't have those anymore). Basically diesel trucks. Yea I hear ya in AIT when I went back in 2000-2001 I was recycled back a week because I got pneumonia and was in the hospital for 3 days. It kinda sucks not graduating with the class you went in with but you also meet new friends. Hope he is doing well.

Congrats ertravelrn, tweety and jay on the weight loss.

Oh yea the boxing class was HORRID LOL. I felt like dookie the whole time doing it. It was circuit training that I never felt before. It was WORSE than anything I did in the Army. You shadowbox, then run 2 laps, jump rope, run 2 laps, lift weights for biceps, shoulders, run 2 laps, push ups (army style!), run 2 laps, sit ups, crunches, and flutterkick, run 2 laps, then box with boxing bags during that time you run 2 more laps 2 more time and then to end it all you run 2 more laps!!!

Everyone was heaving and looking like we were going to barf. My boyfriend who is a fantastic basketball player and plays college ball, was even feeling the affects 3 days after the workout. And he loves to run!!!

I'm going to do it again though because I have NEVER felt so tired and exhausted and so PLEASED to be done with a workout in my life LOL. You burn on average a 1000 cals in this workout and I totally believe this, most I've burned was from spinning class and this was nothing like spinning for an hour!

Thanks for the review Cherish. I know if I see that at the gym NOT to sign up. :)

Nightmare, I hope that feeling "chuffed" is a Scottish saying and it's a good thing. Kudos on the lifestyle changes.

The discovery of cinnamin happened by accident when they were trying to measure the glycemic index of apple pie. It was lower than they thought and it lead to the discovery of cinnamin. I put it in my oatmeal when I have it, and sometimes high glycemic fruit like papaya or pumpkin.

I just made some killer lentil and cabbage soup that is very low call, but I put way too much garlic in it. My bowling team isn't going to want to be around me. LOL

Is there such a thing as too much garlic?

Cool! Actually I have the reverse problem, I tend to hypoglycemia, but I am finding that putting it in my oatmeal or just baked apple w/o the sugar is a good substitute - gives a bit of a kick!

I AM concerned about cholesterol, I am right on the line as far as levels go.

How long was the class? Cool - guess if you are suffering enough the time goes fast? ha ha!

Boy you'd be a toothpick if you kept this up on a regular basis, I guess.. wow. GOOD FOR YOU for doing it!

There is never such a thing as too much garlic. But my coworkers and patients might think so. I'm irritated because I left lunch at home.

I had a friend who was successful with weight loss, and keeping it off. One thing she did was use a lot of garlic, and the other was to eat a lot of carrots and things w/ beta carotene (sp)... she was like an oompa loompa who could use a bath...

I guess if she read this she would no longer consider us friends lol...

Cheers Tweety ,yes "chuffed" means very pleased with yourself!

I make a killer lentil soup as well but put Kale in it as well as onions, leeks ,carrots and potatoes. It's a definite cure for constipation and usually works in about an hour!!I love making soup,no garlic though,it does not like me much!and DH does not like it.I take a level teaspoon of cinnamon in my cereal in the morning then I have cinnamon tabs which I take with my main meals.I don't know if it's the cinnamon ,but something is working.

Anyone heard of the no trans-fat diet over there? There is a theory which is currently being tried out by some diabetics(Type 2)that getting rid of all trans fats in the diet and replacing them with natural or cold pressed oils will eventually "cure"Type 2.Now,this involves taking up to 4 tablespoons of Hemp oil and Linseed oil a day and I will not be trying that because my stomach just would not stand that amount of raw oil (((shudder)))Some of those trying it have indeed got their blood sugars down to "normal "levels and kept them there.

A lot of my fav "good for you" foods, like the above, relieve constipation - - but that's cuz I eat too many meals of them in a row and then "whoops, shouldna done that ... " lol
