3 pounds off without too much effort, yayy! And that is fairly pre-menstrual (poor Tweety misses out on this benefit)

Just think what I could do with MORE effort, lol!

don't know when I'll get back. have a great weekend everyone.

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself in this thread because it seems like you guys have a great network of support for each other. I'm a nursing student, overweight (6'0 & 195 lbs), a smoker AND drinker. I think that my one saving grace is that I'm a vegetarian and have been for 17 years. I KNOW that if I wasn't then I'd be obese. My goals for the future are to lose weight, stop smoking, eat healthier and to hopefully slow down on the drinking to become at least a 'social drinker'. I look forward to updating all of you wonderful people on my success!

Hello cabykay....this is a good group, have met lots of wonderful folks here(online that is)

Zoe......one of the benefits of living here, canoes for the river...it was fun, but my arms are sore, thankfully my dh kept us from flipping over into the river, although we got caught in some trees a couple of times.

Didn't make it fishing, had a water leak we had to fix last evening, oh well....

Did eat better last night.

Piecing together a memory guilt for my mom-in-law, turning out real nice.

Go for my pre-employment stuff today and start new job monday. YEAH...working from home, can't wait.

Hoping everyone has a wonderful day

What's that mean in English? lol

That stinks about your pilates tape, I know you want to do this! But the little gnomes don't want you to...

Hi cabykay!~ nice to meet you!

This is a good place for all of the above - esp. (for me) hearing about the good things people are doing for themselves on a day-to-day basis, and their successes. I am still overwt by about 50 lb - but I have quit smoking for almost a year and a half, and have been sober for > 20 years thanks be to God :) --- oh and I haven't been dating (chuckle)

I am having a REAL hard time with eating and exercise tho :( It's like the last ... what's that word? Well you know what I mean... anyway, hope you find some support here, I trust that you will!

Memory "guilt" - was that a Freudian typo? ha ha!

The canoeing sounds fun - and starting a new job from home? Mahvelous! Hope it is the job you wanted!

xo guys

Hi everyone!

No, I'm not dead, tho I feel like it this evening! Phew what a whirlwind the last few days. We are prepping for JCAHO coming on Mon. & Tues. Admin. has their panties in a wad with last minute things - where was all this junk a month ago? Sheesh.

Will read posts & update myself tomorrow. Doing okay - eating reasonably well, exercising fair. Not as much as I would like, but not being a couch potato either.

Welcome cabykay!

More tomorrow!

I'm feeling pretty good, actually, "not so fat". Not that I think I have lost any, but being active just naturally gives you some confidence and better posture and etc. Foodwise I'm still behaving compared to before - I'll probably weigh myself next week!

YES! I think that's why I like to workout. I carry myself better and feel stronger and that really helps me keep to good food choices, too. Now, I just have to get on the ball . . . I always feel better AFTER, but not always wanting to go so much BEFORE, LOL.

I love that time of the month (I don't keep such good track now, but I can always tell I'm a couple of days away when I find chips in my grocery cart and can't really remember putting them there, LOL) for the weight loss.

I'm glad you're not dead--that pretty much defeats the purpose of a healthy living thread :lol2: Does JCAHO (er the Joint Commission ;)) give you warning? My hospital has been holding this over our heads for months; by the time they show up, nobody is going to remember anything we were told

I don't know, memory guilt has kind of a nice ring to it--didn't we cover that in Psych? I'm glad DH got the job; sounds like an ideal situation, same hospital, but not in each other's pockets. Unless that's your thing, LOL.

I love working weekends. That would always be my first choice. Things seem a little more relaxed at work then.

Don't sore muscles feel productive, though? (Talking about your river floating, although, that actually sounds more relaxing than hard work . . .)

What are pylo legs? Do I want some? I'm sure I've read where a clean house is pathological. I've decided not to risk it ;)

How do you like Pilates? I tried a [very advanced] DVD once and it was pretty grim. She swung her limbs around like there was no tomorrow. I did order a Pilates for Dummies (more my style, LOL), but I haven't dared try it yet.

Welcome, friend :) Good to have you on board. Nursing School isn't known for it's healthy lifestyle, unfortunately. I'm trying to work off NS, myself.

We broke the diet to celebrate DS's graduation a couple of days ago. I didn't even think about dieting.

(At the graduation I was fascinated by the guy sitting next to me, very ADD type, up and down throughout -- gave DH and me a little workout getting up and down to let him out -- munching nachos absolutely dripping with cheddar at 0900 through the graduation ceremony. Yick. Had to wonder if he didn't work nights, yanno?:lol2: )

So I tried to watch it for the next couple of days, because it usually takes 2 days for my weight to spike after I've had a non-diet meal.

(I used to say I was "being bad," but I'm not gonna beat myself up like that anymore. It only makes me feel defeated, which in a very sly way, sabotages me and actually allows me to give up and give in, and eat way too much of what I shouldn't.)

Anyhow, the upshot is that I haven't really gained anything overall, to my surprise.

And another great thing happened: I found my old WW points guide so I know about how much to cut back for this next round of loss. At the time I joined WW, I was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up there, so even though I've been yo-yo'ing back and forth, I've managed to keep 25 pounds off since that time a couple of years ago.

Emotionally I'm in a much better place. Less frustration, less emotional eating. I'll never be that Nicey-nice person, or that Totally Cool Laid Back person that I've always wanted to be, or even that Little Miss Perfectly Efficient person *by a long shot* but I can pretty much look at myself in the mirror and be okay with who I am, what I'm doing with my life, and how I feel.

Great, Angie. Very insightful :) But you didn't break your diet for the graduation--you just made choices that worked for you at that particular time :icon_hug:

Hi all!

We're off for a little hike in the desert. It's beautiful out, no rain (finally!). Back later for a little steak on the grill.

Sounds like a perfect day :)

Hi all,

Finally back.

Alot going on. Not too much has changed since I last posted. Still trying to change diet for family. DH is more involved now, which is good.

will get back to blogging, I hope, as this helps with accountability.

I hope everyone is well.

all my love,

gentle

Good to see you

Nice to see you gentle! Good luck!

I had a nice cookout full of evil food. Loved it. The leftovers have been good as well. The gym was closed yesterday, but I did make the effort to go.

And the beauty of it is, it still counts since you made the effort :D Sounds like a delicious dinner.

Hiker - yikes, sounds like you've been busy, hope you have a chance to recoup!

Blue - your hike sounds wonderful! I took my kiddos to the lake yesterday and let them splash about, did a little swimming too - it felt wonderful!

No lake close by here, but the kidlets and I spent the afternoon at the pool. I've got a little one who just thinks it's the best bathtub ever :)

You know, sometimes I think I like being too busy. I should probably spend some time figuring out why, though . . .
