  1. we have to be insured in my program as well. edit: I believe its only $14 per semester
  2. I always hear this but I promise it's not as nice as you think! I'm also 6'0 and on the hefty side and can go into a full panic attack just from pants shopping!
  3. ok, that makes sense! I was wondering because I would have loved to take the summer off and start in the fall and would have been angry if I was misled. Congrats!!!
  4. I wasn't aware that there was a Fall '07 program. UALR's nursing program now (beginning with this year) starts in the summer. I also was notified by mail, not phone when I was accepted... I'm not trying to be rude, I promise, but I'll be a little ticked off if it was possible to start in the Fall and not Summer because I had to pay out of pocket for the summer session since my scholarship doesn't kick in till August...
  5. Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself in this thread because it seems like you guys have a great network of support for each other. I'm a nursing student, overweight (6'0 & 195 lbs), a smoker AND drinker. I think that my one saving grace is that I'm a vegetarian and have been for 17 years. I KNOW that if I wasn't then I'd be obese. My goals for the future are to lose weight, stop smoking, eat healthier and to hopefully slow down on the drinking to become at least a 'social drinker'. I look forward to updating all of you wonderful people on my success!
  6. of course I know where Alread is! I'm from Dennard.
  7. Honestly, I wouldn't recm'd moving any further north than Conway. I'm from a little town about 45 min's north of Conway and racism sadly is still an issue (whether people want to admit it or not). I lived in Conway for a year and have lived in North Little Rock for almost 7 and am happy to say that it is nowhere near as bad as in North Central/North Arkansas.
  8. My first orientation was April 21st, second will be on May 16th. I have my CPR certification tomorrow and classes officially start on May 21st. I'm nervous and excited!
  9. I took A&P I & II last summer while working 5 nights a week. It wasn't easy but I made it and made A's in each course.
  10. I am so glad that I just read all 45 pages of this thread! I start the RN program in two weeks and have found lots of helpful tips here. Thanks!
  11. I just got my acceptance letter today also! I was accepted into the accelerated program but becauses of my scholarship had to change it to the traditional option.
  12. Hello everyone, I'm crossing my fingers hoping that I get into UALR and can start this summer!
