This is the thread where members come to share their journey to wellness and wholeness.
It's a holistic thread, talking about all apects of health, not just diet and exercise, but the mind and spirit as well. All posters are welcome (not just Premium Members) and encouraged on a periodic basis to share what you're doing, what you need to do and how you're going to do it, and what you know!
Thanks so much everyone! I knew you guys would understand and it feels so good to tell someone!!! :)
Blue, I am so glad you are getting well again - yeay!
Tweety, I think you are right with the goal-setting each day. I do so much better when I have a plan than when I just "wing it". I just need to remember to do that more often. BTW, how are your classes going? Wish I could go to a college you will be teaching at - you will be an awesome teacher!
Garden, your runs during breaks sound magnificent! I doubt I could run a block without getting winded, but I am working on that. :)
Hey Zoe, how's it going? You are so right - it's sad that classmates feel the need to be so competative. After all, we are all in this for the same reason and with the same goal. Seems silly and juvenile to be so competative, but that's just me. Oh well, I just keep my mouth shut and keep plugging along.
Hi everybody else!
Have a happy, healthy day y'all!
Blue, glad that you're feeling better. I came and go, but I am relaxed. I'm a bit moody and sleep distrubed lately. So that might be what your noticing. I'm just tired. I'm sure it's because of the "divorce". The spouse is moving out in the next week and it's hitting home that I'll be a middle aged man living alone with two dogs. Not where I wanted to be at this stage, but I'll be o.k.
Yep you will, but still, {{{{{{{Tweety}}}}}}}

{{{{{{{{{{Tweety!}}}}}}}} Too bad I'm not in Fla. I would take you out for dinner to cheer you up! (mmmmm, dinner......). I'm excited for you that you are almost finished school! Are you still planning your celebration?
Hey everyone!
We had the most fabulous spring weather today, and I was stuck inside working all day. I did manage a walk this morning before work, so I did get to enjoy a little of it.
Ugh. Came home to take a nap, lots of sick calls with the local flu variant and I am on call for tonight too. I'll only have to go in if they get more than 2 admits, so HOPEFULLY it will be Q____. (We are a very superstitious group here, and I won't even type the word-we-never-say.)
Sarah - congrats on your grade!!!!!!!!! I don't think I would say anything to my classmates either. I would worry about hurting someone else's feelings who may not have gotten as good a grade even though they worked just as hard as I did. Wouldn't want to rub their nose in it. I am re-entering the academic world soon. I am scheduled to start working on my BSN on 4/30. I'm just waiting for my registration packet to arrive.
Gardendove -Good for YOU!!!! What a great idea! I will try to incorporate that (walking tho, no running for me) with my new job in a few weeks. I'm orienting someone to take my position, so it would be a little awkward at the moment. No kiddo's here, just a couple of dogs at the moment, and a love bird. We just never got around to it and then we were too old to want to change. I keep meaning to load up pictures of the pooches but don't have them saved on my laptop yet.
Zoe - How's life in the north country? You are a braver woman than I, I haven't even looked at my bathing suit in over a year and we are going to Vegas in a little over a month. Need to at least see if it will stretch enough to get on!!!
Hi Hiker!
Hope everyone else is doing well!

(chuckling)
there was another suit in the store today (it's a used clothing etc. store) but it's in a much bigger size, so i am afraid to try it on because it might fit! which would be worse than the small not fitting. guess i gotta stick to the walking in the big sweatsuit for now lol
whatcha gonna do in vegas? the obvious? have fun!
ACTUALLY - The Vegas trip may not be as obvious as you think! A group of local ladies and I are going to watch the World Cup - the best horses and riders from around the world (really, they are coming form all over Europe, Britain, US, etc.) to compete in either Jumping or Dressage. We went 2 years ago and had a blast. This event occurs every 2 years in Vegas. We all either currently ride ourselves, or have ridden in the past (that's me) so we live vicarously watching these fabulous competitors on the most gorgeous horses around! After the horse show is over, DH is going to join me and we are running down to Laughlin for a few days. We will meet an old friend there & hang out for a couple days, then back to Vegas for one night at Caesar's before heading home. So a little of the usual, a lot of me and the ladies dreaming how it would be to be able to ride so well and enjoying every minute!
:balloons:
Dressage = ballet on horseback!

Blue, I didn't know "dressage" meant that, COOL! I figured that was just one of those words I would remain ignorant of for the rest of my life LOL -
That sounds like a fun time - will you teach me to ride? I have always dreamed of having a horse farm, and helping disadvantaged kids (and having a handsome long haired husband, but hey ...)

Garden, it's great that you ran during your lunch. It's way too hot to do that here. But I do try to climb the steps up to the fith floor where I work. As far as time management goes, what helps me is to try to stay off the computer which is my biggest distraction. I set goals each day: today I will read two chapters, I will go to the gym, and I will mop the floors. Stuff like that. I keep it simple. Living alone without kids running around makes it easier to management my time effectively.
