Greetings. Deb is going to put a sticky on this thread and eventually delete the other.

This is the thread where members come to share their journey to wellness and wholeness.

It's a holistic thread, talking about all apects of health, not just diet and exercise, but the mind and spirit as well. All posters are welcome (not just Premium Members) and encouraged on a periodic basis to share what you're doing, what you need to do and how you're going to do it, and what you know!

Thanks Jen.

That is a good idea Tweety - it keeps you committed since you already spent your hard-earned $ on it. I like that idea. Now . . . we just need a gym out here . . . lol! My son and I have been taking evening walks together though, so that is good. :)

Hi everyone, I am jumping over to this thread! Thanks for starting a new thread! I know I went MIA over the last several months, but the first semester of school was consuming my life! ;) I will try to be better.

So....for me, an update. I am 140 lbs lost now, my lab work is incredible for the first time in my life. No more glucophage for me either! WOOT! I am setting a goal for next May, I WILL run in the Mini Marathon here in Indy. 13.1 miles, training programs start in January. Not doing this for the competition or anything, just want to do it for a sense of accomplishment.

Tweety, you are talking about yoga, I will admit I am interested too, but I still have a mind that tells me fat girls can't do things (I am working on getting over it, but when your mind has been like that for 38 years it takes a lot to reprogram). How difficult is it? THe YMCA here has a class and I would like to try, but am still afraid of getting in there and being "the fat girl in gym class"

i ate a bag of those cape cod salt and vinegar chips for breakfast (finished it off for lunch). sure they aren't huge bags of chips - i want to say 8 oz, - i'm going to eat ramen noodles before work. funny compared to my hodgeson mill whole wheat organic pasta with flax seed, spicey red sauce and a romaine lettuce/carrot/red cabbage/radish salad for dinner last night. :)

i'll take my usual healthy meal for dinner and get back on track but for some reason when i am stressed i can't get enough salt. today was a day to ellipse, but i took a final instead - i came home and napped. i'll hopefully get back into the groove tomorrow...last time my dad got sick i ended up only exercising 1 time in 2 weeks just because of travel, classes and work.

oh well...in the grand scheme of things, what's one day of comfort food? :p

Lori - hi and congrats on the weight loss - that is incredible!!!! Great job!

RN2be - I really think it is important to indulge every once in a while. Not all the time, but you have to be bad just once in a while to keep yourself sane. Don't worry about it, you can pick back up tomorrow.

On a very HAPPY note - I am thrilled to pieces!!! I got in! I got in! I GOT IN!!! YaHoooooooooo!!! I am officially a 'nursing student' now! I start my orientation and first day May 30th and I can't wait! I can't believe it, I am so thrilled I am on cloud-nine!!! Yippeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! :D :balloons: :D

rn2be, no harm done. I endulge frequently myself. No one's perfect and life is too short.

Lori, good to hear from you. Congrats on the continued weight loss that is awesome. You should give yoga a try. I find it challenging, but a the thing about yoga is you do what your body tells you. If the instructor says put your foot in your ear and you can only bring your foot to your knee, then you bring your foot to your knee and stop there. I love it.

Sarah congrats! You'd better try stress-relieving techniques and get them down pat now. LOL :)

Yoga is a good way to exercise and destress at the same time, I recommend it too!

So on my hunt for knowledge about fats, I'm trying to find out which products are better than others for when I have a craving for something salty. Any chips recs? I read that Frito just changed up their formula to cut saturated fat way down...anyone try the new chips?

Wonka when I was on my diet they allowed baked torilla chips and I tried the Doritoes baked chips (but had to weigh out a certain amount) and like them o.k. By the time I finished the bag several weeks later I had even gotten to like them.

I was good today and went to the gym to do weights and 40 minutes of aerobics. No junk food today. :)

i really like a lot of the cape cod products. :)

edit: tried to copy the baked lay's info and it's not working - here's a direct link to that site: http://www.fritolay.com/fl/flstore/cgi-bin/products_baked.htm

Hi Tweety!

Just reposting what I said on the other thread because I am just SO important and enjoy hearing from the rest of the gang! ;)

My "part deux" post edited for brevity's sake LOL - it is nice to see you as always Tweety! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Tweets}}}}}}}}}

Just saying hi! Moods are staying pretty steady, some anxiety and depression but DEFINITELY better, thank God! I did start doing some trial work periods this week in SPITE of that! (I have been out on disability for bipolar and anxiety disorder). Starting REAL slow and working my way up.

Unfortunately, being on depakote shuts off the signal you should receive when you have had enough food, and also, financially, I haven't been able to get the quality of food that would help me with weight loss. I've gained 12 lb since January. With beginning work, the $ will be better AND I will be more active.

t was BEAUTIFUL! here in Maine last week, I was more active and I hope to continue! Yeah right, little fitness angel, that's me! ROFL!

Well anyway, I have been reading you guys' posts and wanted to check in! xoxox

:welcome: back Zoe. You have been missed.

Those look good rn, I don't think we have them around here. But I'm going to starting looking. :)

The sodium content seems a bit lower than other chips.
