Blue - Glad you're enjoying your vacay and you're still able to fit into your pants.

Muffie - a dulcolax? So glad I wasn't drinking my coffee when I read that; my computer screen would've been a vanilla-flavored mess!

Tweets - Sorry you won't make it to graduation this time. Maybe when you get your MSN? Anyway, thanks for inspiring and motivating so many of us here with your perseverance and dedication, and most of all, congratulations!

Hiker - I thought it was a little strange that only the long-cooking oats really satisfy my hunger. I usually add Fat Free French Vanilla creamer to it instead of milk. Sometimes I'll cut up a little Granny Smith apple and put a sprinkle of cinnamon on it. Yum!

    Hi Zoe!

ER, your grandson sounds so adorable! Hope your workday goes well!

Oh, almost forgot, I'm just maintaining here.

Have been on a chicken and rice and hot sauce kick the past couple of nights. Time to go back to the tuna fish for a few days. I have a steak in the freezer, but I'm waiting for a special occasion for it.

I ate well yesterday, but took off for dinner. I just wasn't in the mood and it was too late to ask someone to go out with me (I did and he said he couldn't), so I stopped by the grocery store and got some fried chicken. I seem to be paying the price, my GI system has been in an uproar ever since. LOL

Off to the gym. I'm eating out tonight Thai food. Guess there could be worse food to eat.

Tweety, you didn't accidently take one of Blue's dulcolax's, did you?

ER--sweet of your grandbaby to clean your driveway rocks for you I love that age.

Angie--creamer on oatmeal sounds like a good idea. And don't you love having a steak in the freezer saved? Just knowing it's there when you want it makes it easier to make healthier choices, I think.

Sarah, I'm sorry if I missed it, but aren't you done for the semester? Do you get summer off? I always had to go in the summer so I could meet the general ed requirements to get my AD and so that I have what I need when I bridge over to BSN. Summer school's a bit easier and I really enjoy showing up in shorts and a t-shirt, but I'd have still rather had the time off

    Hi, everyone!

Since this is the "Health and Stress Management" forum, I'd like to share that in the interest of stress relief, DH & I took the day off from dieting and spent the day out on the water.

We ate out. Lobster, stone crab, shrimp dinner....and yes, I had dessert. Even though that's all we ate today, I'm sure I went over my allotted calories for the day.

Got some nice pictures and had a great time.

Back on board with the program tomorrow.

    Good job Angie.

    Great job maintaining Muffie.

Was a prisoner of repair people yesterday. Got my air conditioner looked at and my icemaker fixed. Necessities here in Florida. LOL So I didn't work out.

But I'm heading to the gym here in a few.

Prices must be outrageous - we have a seafood rest. here that is closing its doors because it can't keep up with the prices! (they are cheaper than some of the more classy restaurants). It's sad, they have been an icon around here for years...

Glad you enjoyed your day, were you on a boat or just near the water?

Hi Zoe! The prices are pretty comparable (comparably outrageous, that is); it's a tourist area, after all. The goal was to get us both out of the house and moving.

You can get a great grouper sandwich *with sides* around here for less than $10, if you know where to go. But for things like lobster and crab, it's more expensive. I think the King Crab dinner was about $26, Stone crab was about $15. Steak and tails were also in the high twenties, but there were other items that were much cheaper.

I didn't want just crab, so I had a combo platter of lobster tail and stone crab, and a shrimp cocktail. DH also had a combo platter, but it had a variety of shrimp. I ate 4 of the shrimp cocktail and gave him the other 2, and from my platter, I couldn't finish even one shrimp.

I probably shouldn't have had dessert.

Which is why we agreed to allow ourselves a "diet holiday" once a month. I figure that the money I've saved from not eating at the cafeteria at work and the money he's saved not smoking, really paid for our little fun day.

Anyhow, I did gain a little bit, but less than a pound, so that's pretty cool.

I'm trying to keep to 1300 calories a day and some light excersize. I'm super out of shape and 20 pounds from my goal weight. Its so hard though. I'm hungry all the time and am doubting if I can live like this. I've only been doing this for a week. I keep thinking that I will get used to it eventually and not be hungry. I looked up my bmr and its only 1375. I'm kind of a couch potatoe and a half hour of excersize is all I can do right now, outside of everyday activities housework and such doesnt really burn much fat. What do you all try to eat for calories?
