Health Science in Pre-Clinical or Nursing Program

Published

Hello, I will be applying for CSUEB soon and had a few questions about the programs they offered. I've heard that this school is extremely competitive and wanted to know if it's a better option to apply for their Health sciences major in pre-clincals or to just go for nursing. I have a 3.4 and I'm worried thats not enough to get me into the nursing program. I've taken all my perquisites at Chabot as well. Would the pre-clinical course help better my chances in getting into the nursing program?

Thank you!

I'm in the same situation! Any updates?

I don't know exactly, but I don't think you'd get in with a 3.4. I guess if you are a health sciences major then you get bonus points as a "native" student when you apply to the nursing program. Can you apply for both at the same time?

I don't know and to be honest my gpa isn't greater than 3.0 though I can still apply to a few ADN programs and my school counselor suggested to apply to the health science major at CSUEB that will later qualify me to apply to the nursing program there as well. I will meet her soon again next week to get more details.

If you can get into nursing first I would go for it. I messed up during my early 20s so now I will just wait and see what's out there for me.
