health professional while married

hello all,

does your career affect your marriage?

Whoever complains about being married to an RN/LPN is a jerk! I mean, nurses and doctors are great people, they make a difference and are always willing to help! Plus, if something goes wrong with them, they have someone to take care of them and fix them!

Don't worry, your partner is lucky to have you!!

Good luck in enithing you choose it is not ease but you will overcome all

I agree w/ the poster above who said they don't talk shop at home. Neither of us discuss work at home. We both leave that stuff "at the office." Although, since we do see some of dh's coworkers socially (not any of mine) they come up in conversation, but not in a work related way unless it is HUGE.

Sorry to hear of your troubles during the holiday season, but I must say it sounds as though you have a troubled relationship and it has nothing to do with your career.

sad sad sad

I have found that being a nurse does affect my marriage, but not necessarily in a bad way. We just make the most of our time together.

(((Hugs))) to you, OP. Life is too short to be unhappy! Good luck to you, you will be in my thoughts!

I find my fiance` who doesn't work in the health care field has a hard time with the fact that its hard to find a job thats Mon-Fri days. She works those hours and wants me to work them too.

M-F jobs for nurses are out there-you just have to WANT to do them KWIM?

Sometimes there is a decrease in pay, no more scheduling 3 days at the beginning of a 2 week schedule and 3 days at the end of the schedule with a big stretch in the middle-I miss this the most :crying2:
