Anyone out there know if they are applying for the 2017 Nursing program for HCC (Hillsborough Community College)? I am! Just realized I want to do this so I'm taking A&P 1 and 2, microbiology, and sociology this summer. Apparently its called the crazy train! Anyone else doing something similar?
FutureNurse is right. The BA may help satisfy the Humanities courses needed for the ASN but as for HCC that's about it. Now, if you wish to transfer to USF or another BSN school, the BA will help if you have already taken classes like Statistics and Chemistry, etc. It will help in being able to focus on Nursing courses instead of having to add in additional core classes, if that makes sense. Haha.
Who all has already taken Stats? Any instructor you LOVE or who should be totally avoided?

I am taking statistics this semester at SouthShore campus and it's only 8 weeks I believe but you can always check on rate my professor and they help a lot finding who is a great professor or not I know for chemistry and human nutrition this time my professors are on there have great ratings saying everyone passes with A's because of the teacher. I'm not so worried about statistics because I love math lol.
I am applying with a bachelors degree, do you know how those credits apply when finished with nursing school?
Not entirely sure. I have a BS in Biology, but I know if we do RN > BSN then it takes less time because we have so many of the credits complete. Also, once we finish RN school then we can go directly to NP school after working for some time without getting the BSN. USF has the MSN program for RNs with BS in another field. But, I'm really looking at USF's CRNA program later down the line so I will probably do the BSN.
Alexpenn-yes I have been stalking other posts on here and your right what is your gpa if you don't mind we have started a pool of gpas for spring.
Analgesic- That is my career goal I'm completing my AS at HCC and applying at USF for the bsn and then masters as a nurse practitioner. I know it's going to be tough but I'm gonna take a break after bsn and go back when I can pay for my msn out of pocket because I know loans and financial aid don't usually pay after you get your bachelors so I heard.

You can pay for graduate school all with loans.

I don't know how it works with a bachelors but I'm sure nothing changes. I think depending on if you want to get your bachelors in nursing is when it will be beneficial the most because a lot of those credits will apply shortening your path. I think RN is just RN and they go by your prerequisite courses at HCC and then the overall to break a tie.
