Anyone applying to Houston Community College for the fall? I signed up today for the HESI. I am scheduled to take it on 3/29. If I do well, they will place me into the summer pharmacology course. I am a little nervous. I would love to hear from any students that are in the program. Any tips on the HESI & the Pharm. class would be helpful! The thought of it... ahhh it boggles my mind! LOL
Thanks!
Is everyone ready??? :) I still need to read ch. 5 & 23. I wonder if we need to read it by tomorrow or tuesday.I have been enjoying my weekend with husband and family... I warned everyone that I wouldnt be around anymore! lol So here we go guys!
I was thinking the same thing!!!! No more life for two straight years but I'm ready for it!!!!! I read chapters 1,5 I just need to read 23 and we will have lecture on Tuesday!!! I hope everybody enjoys their last day of a normal life from now on it's study study work and study!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I know that Monday (the 25th), is supposed to be a class/orientation day, but does anyone know if ALL the students (day and evening) are supposed to show up at 9 am or is that just for the day students. I assume we show up at 5 pm because I never heard anyone say the evening students should show up at a specific time on Monday. I stopped by the nursing office the following day, and Ms Clark told me she also thought we needed to show up at 5. ANYWAY, just checking to see if anyone has heard anything different.
For those students that haven't yet obtained or decided against obtaining the videos, I've uploaded the first one to YouTube for your viewing pleasure (or torture?).

This should give you enough guidance for the first skills lab, although none of these tasks is terribly complex.

In that video, the SN checked the patient's ID bracelet, which is good. However, she should have asked the pt to verify their name verbally, since the patient was alert and oriented. While it's not vital when just doing VS, it is a very good habit to get into any time you're dealing with a patient.
