Actually, despite what the CNO website says, that is not actually true. My husband completed registration and is living in Canada on a work permit. There are a lot of jobs available in Ontario for RNs, especially if you are prepared to go into home healthcare. To reiterate, you do not have to be a PR, citizen or refugee in order to complete registration with CNO

I am in the same situation, I am a New Zealander educated in the US. I was just advised to take this written/practical exam as well. I have found some useful information at the CEHPEA website: Centre for the Evaluation of Health Professionals Educated Abroad (CEHPEA) After looking for a prep class, I determined there aren't really any. It's just like an exam in nursing school: a 10 minute interaction with a patient followed by 2-3 post-simulation questions to determine you understand the nursing process, and probably to assess certain clinical skills and reasoning. I am not crazy about taking the exam, but I think a competent and experienced nurse should be able to pass. That's my attitude towards it anyway. Good luck.

Actually you are wrong. The LVN course is day only. You can call 7137187330 for confirmation. The RN program is offered in the evenings, but the topic of this thread is not the RN program.

I got the previous edition's books on Amazon. There is little difference between the two editions, and I got everything on the list for $100. I've heard that a big part of Pedi is the childhood diseases which you're expected to know inside-out. I think keeping ahead of the reading is the best strategy. I'll start reading as soon as my books arrive. I believe the registration slips will be available on Jan 12. I hope you all enjoy your break :)

HCC's program starts in Fall and Spring, and it takes a year

Has anyone got their clinical shoes already? I have decided on the white leather chucks. Did anyone happen to catch the details of the Foundations tutors? When and where are the sessions?

I guess I'm doing the same as you... making my own notes for each of the 8 chapters and keeping on top of the readings. I hope things settle down a bit next week... tho I'm not holding my breath. I didn't find any surprises in the exam, and didn't stay to get my grade either. RnBound, how are you finding everything? How are you all structuring your studies? I'm interested to know what others are doing... Oh, and I wonder if we should start a new thread?

I have my eye on a pair of white leather chuck taylors. They're tennis shoes, but as far as I could tell yesterday there's only one professor who has a problem with tennis shoes, and he's taking a weekend clinical that only took 10 students. I hate the scrub top, it's the ugliest thing I've ever seen and appears to be made from sandpaper (my delicate skin!) buuhuu Oh, and yesterday was a shambles.

You know what, I'm in a similar situation. I've just got back from having TDAP, MMR and a titer for Varicella. Turns out, MMR is 2 shots (I didn't realize you need another course after 10 years) and so I've got another shot on Sep 16. I managed to catch Ms Grant on her way out the door at Coleman and she said to confirm with Ms Wooten who is taking the orientation tomorrow. There's a chance they'll let it slide since we start at the hospital the first week of Oct. I'm having TB tomorrow and read on Friday. I'm mildly freaked out. :chuckle
