HCC ADN Fall 2008 Applicants

Published

Anyone applying to Houston Community College for the fall? I signed up today for the HESI. I am scheduled to take it on 3/29. If I do well, they will place me into the summer pharmacology course. I am a little nervous. I would love to hear from any students that are in the program. Any tips on the HESI & the Pharm. class would be helpful! The thought of it... ahhh it boggles my mind! LOL

Thanks!

I will be doing the day program :)

Yay!!!!!! :anpom:

Congrats Txgrl aka RNBound. I like the new name too.

Yup I'm going for days, too. RnBound, the idea of an Allnurses breakfast is a good one! Is anyone interested in getting together the morning of orientation? It might be nice to know a few people before the program begins...

Great I will also be doing the day program I won't know which days until the 19th!!:)

CONGRATS RNBOUND!!!:yeah:

Congrats to all who got in!!! YEAH FOR U GUYS!!!

NO because people were throwing tantrums! I'm sure her inbox was flooded!!!

TSUNAMI!!

Just1n, I Know!!!

I read it, but people are just getting very frantic! This really isn't a good way to deal with acceptance letters especially with nursing students that we are very "defensive"! LOL!

But that was great what you did and if they do recognize you don't worry! Just be like nothing! You got in and the rest will know with time!

Got my "acceptance e-mail" a couple of hours ago. They definitely need to work on their acceptance procedures. It's far less than perfect. I understand that the whole process tends to be complicated, but the way they run things seems a bit ridiculous.

Chaos that's a total understatement!!!

Congratulations!!

I think it is so hectic because there are so many students and remember no other school accepts as many students as HCC in the Houston area. I also think it's very hectic because you all just got out of class. Tell me what other school would even bother with waiting for students to finish pharm, some other schools will make you wait until Spring. I know HCC is rather disorganized but this is just a last minute hectic situation. At this point I really believe they are doing the best they can! I would just be happy that I am accepted!! So everybody get ready to embark upon this 2 year journey! Good Luck to all of you and I will see you in a week or so!!!!:loveya:

Hey Justin, if you get that copy of the physical form would you mind emailing it to me, too? Or even better, just post it here?

Thanks.

Physical form!

Jason, check your inbox, Kiwi!

There is also a clinic off Harwin that I went to for my last hep b shot and it was only $35 per dose it is called Personal Lab Results and the number is 713 974-1294. I think the physical is only $35 but they are very reasonable just make sure you tell them that you are a student at HCC and what program you will be attending.

I've been trying to contact these people and will try just going in there tomorrow. Do you know if they have Dr's that do the physical? I ask because most of the clinics seem to be staffed by Nurse Practitioners, and I notice that on the form it asks for the signature of a physician, so I just want to check...

I intend to go in and get titers drawn for MMR and chickenpox, and I think I'll need a booster for Tetorifice. I have proof of Hep B already...

For some reason I'm more nervous about all this stuff than I am about any of the tests.... :chuckle
