Anyone applying to Houston Community College for the fall? I signed up today for the HESI. I am scheduled to take it on 3/29. If I do well, they will place me into the summer pharmacology course. I am a little nervous. I would love to hear from any students that are in the program. Any tips on the HESI & the Pharm. class would be helpful! The thought of it... ahhh it boggles my mind! LOL
Thanks!
I don't think that the right answers are given either, I think I heard mrs grant say that we won't get the answers of what we answered wrong just the "subject" so that we can better that area. and yes, these quizzes are important, I'm actually glad they have them..but it's alot to know, I mean did you see all the meds in each chapter? whoa!
She did say that on saturday. I am reading chapter 17 right now and starting on 18 tonight. I feel sooo lost! is anyone feeling like this?? I am just reading so when she goes over it, maybe it will all sink in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder if we get reviews for the test!?? theres so much it would be nice to get an idea, ya know???

I hate to disappoint you but I took pharm last semester and there was no review for the exams!! I don't know if things will be the same but I really don't think Grant will do a review! Just keep reading and studying your notes you will catch on I made flash cards in order to remember the drugs it all depends on what works for you! Whatever you do don't get discouraged just keep studying! Good luck study hard and I guarantee you will be okay!!!
Not to worry HCC hopefuls! HCC's accreditation is not suspended. That rumor is false. My friend just emailed the BON and they said its not true. She said the only way a school can be suspended is by having a pass rate below 80%. So far HCC is at 89% for 2008... so no worries
HCC is in good standing.

Do you know how many times I have heard that rumor!!!!
A lot in the past few years thanks for that info!!!!
The only specific drugs we need to learn will be made explicit during the course.
I just had a lecture covering the ANS and it was great. Just read the material but don't stress if you don't understand everything right away. The lecture made everything crystal clear and those 4 chapters are actually pretty basic stuff!! I would suggest reviewing a bit of A&P for the lecture, specifically, just go over the ANS...
Also, there are no exam reviews in pharm or in the nursing program apparently... but no comprehensive exam is a big bonus, right!?
I found this website from BON of Texas that talk about the impact that repeat-NClex takers would have on the passing rate of many NS if they were to be included in their statistics of passing rates. Very interesting b/c it points out that many would lose their high passing rates!!
