HCC145AA med/Terminology online?

Anyone taken this class on-line? :typing.
I need to take it for block 2.
I am deciding between Rio Salado and Chandler/Gilbert on-line. I have never taken an on-line class before.
Any advice?

take it through rio, i took it and had it done in about 3 weeks. Its pretty easy and is a good foundation to understand the medical vernacular...don't buy the books, use the internet and your nursing books to look up the meanings of words (but youll already know most of 'em from class).

Are you sure you need it? I thought they incorporated it.

I am currently taking it thru Rio. I am not breezing thru like Cursed Irishman, but I am sailing along. It's not hard...but the book that I got from someone on Craigslist has a lot of practice stuff. If you already have a good grasp on the terminology, then you will do fine without the book.

Now you got me thinking Cursed.

I had got a note today (on blackboard) stating that to process into block 2 I need this class as a co-req. You might have got the same note. However I don't see the class anywhere an the Maricopa Nursing website as a co or pre req. I will speak to an adviser tomorrow. I wonder if it was a form letter from previous blocks.

AZScot, you don't need the class.

I just noticed they are changing the prerequisites AGAIN for those applying for fall 2008! Now most of the prereq's we needed, are co-req's. I don't understand why they keep lowering the prereq's if the waiting list is over 1800 students long. Prereq's weed more people out - if you can't pass microbiology, you'll definitely struggle in nursing school!!!

Just FYI for anyone interested. I took the three credit HCC 130 RIO/Internet. Completed the entire course in two days...all the online quizzes in one evening, and then the in-person midterm and final exams the next day. I am not a genius, but do have extensive experience in the health care arena. The course is not at all difficult. If you have medical experience, it it very easy. If not, still not hard, just takes a little work. Don't let it intimidate you.

If I remember correctly, the HCC130AA is set up differently...case studies or something...the three credit course is all online quizzes (untimed) and an in-person midterm and final.

Oh, I forgot. Print out your quizzes and use them to study for the midterm and final. All of the midterm and final questions were the EXACT questions from the quizzes. Just study the correct answers. You're welcome. :rolleyes:

Are you talking about HCC130? I thought the midterm is online as the other quizzes and you have to go to the testing center only for the final?

I am taking HCC130 and HCC145AA.

Ooops, I'm a dork :mad: ...you're right...I meant HCC145/145AA...I was just helping someone else set up their classes and was dealing with HCC130. Good catch.
