I’m worried I won’t get in now. I was emailed and asked if I took Research Writing (WRI 1200) pre-requisite.  The equivalent course in the UH system is ENG 200.  I took many English courses  just not that one in particular.  Also, if we were accepted as a pre nursing major, do we have to pay the $200 deposit now? What if we don’t get in.

I applied having already completed a BSPH. I know that they waived some courses because of my degree. Do you have a degree already? 

Remember, it's not yet 1 November. Stay positive. 

Worst case scenario,  you'll have to take an HPU course or two before you can start the nursing program. I'm in a Hawaiian studies course right now, and the professor actually offers extra credit assignments! It's the first time that I've ever seen extra credit offered at the university level. Amazing! There are several opportunities for extra credit written into the syllabus. Also, we get two attempts on quizzes! Two! I've never encountered such generous grading.

Congratulations to you! ???♥️
My other friend also received an acceptance letter around the same time as you posted on here about yours! I think he submitted his app the around the same time as yours and I'm being hopeful as I submitted my app a few days before the deadline so maybe mine is coming later? so worried right now LOL

I got in without having research writing.. at Uhm theses classes you take when you are in the nursing program. Hpu said whatever classes I still might need I can take them in Summer. On my degree works it shows two writing classes that I still need, but I can’t seem to find them as courses to take. So I am thinking they are part of the nursing course like Uhm.

This is my degree works and it has theses two writing classes that I need. But as I was looking I guess I already took a research writing class before. So I think theses classes are in the program itself. But might be wrong.

Do you guys think they send acceptance letters in order as you applied? ? I know you guys submitted your apps early in September. I only submitted mine September 25th... hopefully mine is just coming later LOL I'm so worried

Hi Faith96706! I submitted mine on 30th (late I know!) and just got an email last night that I am “conditionally” accepted and will be accepted once I am finished with the class I am taking now for associate degree in arts at KCC.. I’ve took all pre requisites but one class away from getting an associate degree. So basically they accepted me but I’ll need to get this class done with C or better.. to fulfill the “priority consideration to students with general education” section I am assuming! 

my prereq GPA was 3.65 and TEAS 84.7%

I guess I did not get accepted then since acceptance letters went out and you submitted your app after mine ?
