Nursing Students School Programs

Seeing if anyone got excepted for Spring 2022 at HPU

May I ask you guys what materials you used to to study for the TEAS to get such high scores? The 2nd time I retook it my score went down... I even felt more prepared this time and when I actually took it the test, I felt like I overstudied!! I just need new advice just in case I have to retake and re-apply a 3rd time ?

I actually bought the study program that TEAS sells .. it helped me a lot

Hi Faith96706,

I applied to HPU after completing a bachelor of science in a different discipline (GPA 4.0) and was accepted as a pre-nursing major. My prerequisite GPA was 4.0, and my TEAS score was 86%.

Like you, I worry that my TEAS score isn't competitive enough. I couldn’t take the test a second time before the submission deadline because I sustained a trauma that damaged bone along the semicircular canal of my right ear.

I'm feeling a bit better now.

I have no idea what the change in major via Degree Works signifies. It may be a glitch, or something that happened because I satisfied the General Education requirements and nursing prerequisites. I hoped someone in the group knew what it meant.

Keep in mind that I haven't received any email communication except to confirm that HPU received my application to the Spring 2022 BSN program. I think it's safe to assume that it has something to do with satisfying pre-nursing requirements.

I'll keep you posted.

Best of luck to you. I hope that we'll end up as nursing students together!

You definitely have a higher GPA. Mine is not that high not even with just the prerequisites.. my TEAS was just slightly higher. But I had great recommendations letters and my essay was very good. My essay letter I worked really hard on and have been told that it was memorable essay. Sometimes that’s all it takes

I really hope you all get in… I need some study partners !!

sorry for the delay just seen this .. but yes I noticed that mine switched as well before I got my email .. but could not register until I got the email saying that I could now register .. did you try to register for classes?

Hi SamJz,

Thank you for letting me know! ???? I feel a sense of peace just washing over me. I checked to see if I could register and it seemed possible, but I didn't go through with it since I still don't have any official notice of acceptance. I'll let the group know if/when any such emails arrive.

Congratulations again to you, SamJz! Thank you for sharing a bit about your journey and not giving up. I applied to UH's GEPN last fall. The rejection letter UH sent absolutely gutted me. After throwing myself a thorough pity party, I decided to frame their rejection letter so that one day it will be on the wall beside my BSN and doctorate in nursing practice diplomas.

My wonderful GP, who has cheered me on so faithfully, told me about HPU's willingness to accept transfer students and their military discounts. I applied the very same day!

I purchased Mometrix ATI TEAS test prep book. I'm happy to give you my book (but I hope that you don't need to take it a third time). Science with Susanna is on Youtube and she has printouts on her website. I started colouring along to her videos when I took A&P I and again during A&P II. SO helpful! She has a TEAS study section on her website.

I'm using Brandon Craft's videos and workbooks for med dosage. He also has workbooks for TEAS maths.

There's a lady on Youtube who goes over reading & grammar for TEAS. I spent the first 15 years of my life in UK schools, and I teach grammar & Latin to my son's homeschool co-op. I didn't study for those sections. I'll post the link to her channel shortly.

Glad to know that you aren't going to let anything stop you!

I am in program so thankfully over the TEAS

and I am also following Brandon’s craft he is great  Going to pay and do a private session with him.

Is this what your Degree Works looks like? I took a screenshot of mine.

I just got an email from HOU welcoming me to the HPU Ohana and giving me access to the portal. I guess I’ve been accepted into HPU in general. How do I use the portal to find out which path I am on?

Your degree works should show you. It’s a bit confusing navigating thru.

Hey guys just checking in.... Anyone got any updates?

Nope not yet only the notification of getting into the school

Hi
