I am in a bit of a crunch to take all my pre-nursing classes before spring 2011. I am thinking of taking A&P 1 and A&P 2 for the fall semester. Have you done it? Is it too much? Does it get confusing going back and forth between two classes. Just wondering if I am making a good decision here. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with A and Ps.

Interesting, I would love to know if someone has done that and actually made out well. At my school A&p 1 is a pre-req for 2.

A&P I is a prerequisite for A&P II at the school that I took them at, but looking back, I would not have wanted to take them at the same time. There's a ton of information in both, and unless you have a pretty solid understanding of cell biology, chemistry (including biochem) and the organization of the body in terms of tissues, I think it would jeopardize your grade.
A&P 1 was full for the summer, so they said that I can register for A&P 2, and take A&P1 in the fall. I thought A&P1 was prerequisite to A&P2 too, but I guess it's not anymore. They also offer A&P 2 online, but I don't think I am that brave yet...

At my school A&P 1 was a pre-req for A&P 2. But, I think that if you can take A&P 2 for the summer then go ahead and do it.
At my school each class covered completely different systems of the body so it wasnt like A&P 2 was a continuation of A&P 1.
But if theyre allowing you to take both classes simultaneously and you think you can do it then go for it. I took Chem and Microbiology at the same time and it wasnt that bad. There were other students who were taking A&P, Micro, and Pharm at the same time and they did fine as well. I guess it just depends on your course load. If those will be the only two science courses you'll have for the semester then go for it.
Personally, I would never take more than 2 science courses per semester.

Personally, I wouldn't take both at the same time, only if I had given more thought to the decision a few months ago -.-
It isn't confusing going back and forth between the two, in fact, the material covered is significantly different. A&P2 is NOT a continuation of A&P1. You can even take 2 before you take 1 without any troubles what so ever.
howeverrrrr
These are two tough science courses, and you need a lot of dedication to do well when taking both at once. And even then, you will struggle.
Good luck =/ =]

At my school, A&P I is a prerequisite for A&P II, so you couldn't take them both at the same time. I wouldn't suggest it either. There is so much material, especoally for lab...it's hard enough keeping it straight for one!

I def would not take them at the same time. The both kicked my BUTT lol. But like the others have said, most schools require 1 before 2. And even if they don't, you kind of need 1 to really know whats going on in 2.
EDIT: Oh and I understand being in a crunch though. I'm trying to get in for spring '11 at my school too. Im taking my last 2 pre-reqs over the summer and thats it. GOOD LUCK

AP1 was a prereq to AP2 at my school. However they do offer a section were you can take both. First 7 weeks is AP1, the second 7 weeks you take AP2.
