Is this them?
I use a basic model and really like them. I think they're kinda new. Don't really know where they are sold. A friend gave them to me. You're right...that curved grip is great for removing stuck IV's etc. Hope that helps.
I am addicted to this post and have spent WAY too much time trying to find these things for you. I found this page

The one second to the bottom.... the debakey one... I don't think these are scissors as well, but is that the shape of the curve at the back of the hemostat you are talking about??
I have spent too much time too. Sounds like a great instrument though.
Is this it?

Yeah, that's the curve/cut out I'm talking about. Mine were a little bit more pronounced but you get the idea.
I'll give you my first born and his college loans if you can actually find a pr for me.

I found this really neat 3:1 tool that is a pr of scissors, clamp and it was curved further inside the clamp so you could unscew IV tubings that were too tight. I loved my speciality tool, but I lost it in a room and now it's gone.
It looked like clamps until you opened them.
I contacted the store I got them from and they don't carry them any longer nor do they know the brand. I can't remember as it was a year ago.
If anyone has something like this, can you tell me where you got it, name, etc??
