when you check a kid for head lice, the teacher acts as though she doesn't believe you when you say the kids head is clear. no lice or nits found.
how when there is a substitue teacher, you can bet you will see everyone of those kids today for odd reasons.
parents will send a kid to school after vomiting all night long, just so they will qualify for perfect attendance.
teacher's will send you a kid who has been coughing all day long to the clinic 15 minutes before dismissal.
can any of you add to this list ?? i am soooooo ready for school to be over !!

Have you noticed that the kids the teachers send multiples times because they "look sick" just happen to be the ones with the most behavior problems, or the most talkative/disruptive? And somehow you can never find anything physically wrong with them

lol! so true!!
Students will undoubtedly come into the office immediately after school begins saying that mom said to come to the nurse and that she'd pick the kid up. Most often there is nothing wrong with these kids.
Visits to your office taper off drastically any time there is an assembly going on, but then double immediately once regular classes begin again.
yep....this clinic is a lonely place during picture days...party days and assemblies. funny how that works !
Does anyone else notice that there are certain menu items that seem to be more easily upchucked than others? I absolutely dread whenever fish is on the menu around here!

my hispanic kids will barf over any american food. they just can't seem to handle it. most of them pack, but the few who purchase a lunch will up-chuck from just smelling it !

"My teacher said if I wanted to sleep, I couldn't do it in class I had to come down here."
Uh, no, you have to do it at night, not at all in school especially since I saw you in town last night looking just fine.

My biggest pet peeve is teachers who "coach" their kids. You know what I mean: "Oh, you don't look like yourself. You look sorta pale. Come over here--oh, your forehead feels hot? Do you feel okay? You have a fever, go up to the clinic and tell the nurse you need to go home." Of course, in the clinic they are bouncing around, talkative, looking at my stuffed toys and my pictures. Temp is 98.0 with no other symptoms; ate poptarts and choc milk for breakfast, no water. I send them right back with a note to that effect and suggest "he hasn't had any water since last night. Please encourage him to drink water today."
ever notice how students and teachers alike, always want you to do more for them than is legally called for ?? ummm, my foot is sore for the last 4 months, can you make it better ? umm, my eye is twitching, can you help me. umm, my freckle looks funny, what can you do about it ??

ever notice how staff will start to come to you on thursday afternoons asking you to take their temps or check them out ?? and then they are absent on friday ! like i am the gatekeeper to who can take off on fridays !
Students who come to school with a note from mom stating that if Johnny starts to feel bad, just call me......will always come to you wanting to go home 5 minutes after they were dropped off, or exited the bus...
So tired of this song and dance !
