Have you ever cheated in school ? Would you ever cheat if you could get away with it?
Cheating - copying stuff that's not yours - tests, homework, projects and/or other assignments.
Scenario 1:
While taking an exam, your professor left the classroom. You're seated beside a straight-A student. Would you peak to that student's paper? (Note: You can get away with it! You will not get caught!)
Scenario 2:
Your teacher is in the classroom giving a final exam. You are allowed to use your cellphone as a calculator. You are using an iPhone and can access the internet. Would you look into Google to find the answer to a question you do not know?
So, does anyone of you ever cheated in nursing school? at least once or maybe a lot of times? Could you share some of your experiences if you got caught or if you got away with it? Did you feel bad/guilty about it afterward?
I'm just curious, so please don't think that this thread is offensive in anyway. I have to admit that I cheated before. I copied someone's homework, I looked into my seatmates' test paper. I wrote some medical dosages' formula in my desk.
There's also this cliche that goes "When you cheat, you're really cheating yourself." I say this is BS - especially in school. Tuition nowadays is over the top particularly nursing. Not to mention how hard it is to get in into the damn program.
So insights?
i cheated a TON in high school, never on tests, just homework. and like someone mentioned above, i had to do a lot of studying to make up for it for tests. i have zero guilt about it at all. i haven't cheated since being in college, i take a lot of pride in earning my good grades.oh well actually, we had all of our homework and chapter tests for statistics online, which me and my roommate worked on together when we were really stumped.
oh well. i still know that i earned my A (midterm and final were in class) and am very proud of it
Please do not take this as a personal attack, because I don't know Jasmininsf and he/she may be a wonderful human. Having said that, I bet dollars to donuts that some of the classes where Jasmininsf cheated had to do with grammar and sentence structure.
true, i probably cheated at least once in every class. however, english has actually always been my strong point. well... writing has been. in fact, i chose two of my english teachers in high school to write me letters of recommendation. i haven't had a chance to cheat in an english class in college because i passed the english lit AP test, exempting me from the first two years of college english. in addition to that, i've been paid numerous times to write essays for others who go to a CC near home. yup, cheating again. the reason it was multiple times was because they got A's each time-never even a B. so judge me as much as you please if it makes you feel better/smarter but you really don't know a thing about me besides what i've told you. i don't know why i feel the need to defend myself here-as the great bob dylan once said, "only a fool in here would think he's got anything to prove". :)
All of my nursing instructors tell us frequently how smart we all are or we wouldn't even be in the program, if you apply yourself and actually try to learn the material, you can! Of course you're going to need some help, that's what study groups and tutoring is for, but I honestly don't understand the point of cheating in nursing school, to me it is WASTING MORE MONEY! Spend all the money for tuition, supplies, uniforms etc. you make good grades and even graduate, then you go for the NCLEX, what the heck are you going to do then?! Then all that time and money wasted!
Do you really think someone is going to be honest with an answer to that question? You know every nurse out there is a saint!!!!!
:rolleyes:Anyway, I thought you were talking about cheating on your spouse. You should ask that question and see what answers you get. I'll bet everyone is a saint with that one also.......I just couldn't resist!!!!

I guess folks who are dishonest, expect dishonesty from others. Not a saint....just honest.
this forum is so fake! jeesh i admitted to cheating and warned everyone not to end up like me and it got deleted
well yes, I cheated on an exam and I regret it because of the humiliation you go through when you have to return to the next scheduled class after being busted in front of everyone
I do wish my professor was more discreet about it. i didn't like how he approached me and was all loud about it and was drawing more attention to the situation. we had a whole audience watching. yes I was wrong but i felt that he should have discreetly done things so everybody wouldn't have to know.
i also will try to file a lawsuit because of how the security guards man handled me when they were removing me from the classroom. i am only 5'3 and weigh 120lbs, i am just a petite little thing they don't need to be handling me like a ragdoll. my gramma told me to go to my attorney about that becuz the school handled it all wrong!
i am glad i was given a second chance. i made a huge mistake and i wont ever do it again. i was just overwhelemed by all the classes and got behind with studying. i did study but had a cheat sheet for only a few terms it wasn't like i was going to cheat on the whole exam. well now i know better now
