Last time someone came in was two hrs ago and that was a tech. And the nurse was rude. About to lose my patience! But I will not!!!!!!!

What is "missinterrupting"? Never heard that one before.

So just because one is bored means you can't be happy? This is getting a litte kindergarden and doesn't warrant my time anymore ......

since it doesn't warrant your time then go away and don't come back .finish school and become an actual nurse and know what you are talking about.before coming to ed forum and complain about ed nurses .bored or not.

wow, if this is the attitude working in the ED gives you I can say I am pretty sure working there will be at the bottom of my list. I am in aw and concerned by the holier than thou (as much as I hate seeing, saying or typing that), know it all attitudes i am seeing here. I think it is scary that as ER nurses you all fail to see 2 sides to the situation. you are VERY quick to discredit my claims, You claim to know much more than mo and don't think anything is right except what you say! I claim this-TOO BAD, I say something, WRONG, I say no really this is what I meant-WRONG, we don't believe you, we are perfect, you know nothing, YOU ARE WRONG, BLA BLA BLA Scary. BASH BASH BASH AWAY, if it helps you feel better-go ahead!

Afterall, you are ER nurses so I guess that gives you the right to be rude, mad, hateful or whatever else you deem acceptable to whom ever, where ever. patient, student, non patient whoever because who knows what you just dealt with and godforbid someone sneezes wrong! I should just sit here and take the lashing, admit fault when I meant no foul because after all you are the ER nurse, I am just the student.

And before I get the wait till you walk in our shoes or you haven't experienced what I have speech (again), guess what we all have things in life that we have dealt with or are dealing with, nurse or no nurse believe it or not, but it doesn't give you or anyone a free pass to crush the next person. For all the RUDE nurse knew I just lost my sister and she came in having a ruff day herself and was hateful to my mom, only except having been dealing with tragic things myself (ie my sister) I WAS still nice to her, unlike herself.

She doesn't know me, where I have been or what I am going through. She also didn't know I am a nursing student and that I DO KNOW that ER nurses deal with a lot of tragidy. so guess what she hurt my moms feelings and mine because even though I knew better I watched it happen and still said nothing. she didn't know that I understand she could have been dealing with death in the next room and she doesnt assume I understand I know why she is rude, but yet is still rude. so it is unexceptable. do you think 85 yr old granny understands why the ER is rude to her? no, same thing. just because her previous patient died right before granny came in is she allowed to be rude to granny? No, it doesn't give her a pass to be rude to granny because granny doesn't know why this nurse is being rude to her.

(and don't worry I am not generalizing all ER nurses-just the ones that were hateful in this thread, godforbid I Pi$$ anyone else off.)

and in case anyone missed it before my mom came in for chest pain, not chronic pain.....so don't worry she wasn't misusing resources......

And to the poster that thinks I posted this thread just to get a rise out of people, believe me (or not) I do have better things to do than cause arguements.

on that note, not everyone is perfect and people do make mistakes. right? or don't they?

It took about six or six and a half hours before I left an ER after sitting there, bleeding the entire time. I almost passed out from blood loss on the way home. I was much more comfortable bleeding in my own bed.

And one more thing, I do not recall posting this in the emergency nursing but the general nursing discussion. So if the admin wants to check to see if this was moved, go for it-i trust you will be honest. I would not intentionally post this here to make ER nurses mad, to the other poster that thinks so.

note to self next time in the ER , keep head down, out of way and face planted deeply in an app............
