Did doing all the question help or was it the process of understanding which is the best answers in certain situations? Because I test next week, and don't have time to finish all of the UWorld questions, but i'm starting to understand why some questions are right and what the NCLEX is looking for.

I did! Their questions are so much harder than the actual nclex, and the rationales are so clear and detailed. I learned so much more by doing those questions than by anything else. GOOD LUCK!!

I bought both kaplan qbank and uworld qbank. I did all the questions on both, but uworld was much more detailed with their rationale, had more SATA, and it even looked just like the NCLEX!

I am taking my Nclex in 4 days and I finished my Kaplan course with average of 65% on the whole review course. I started doing U-World few days ago and I do agree that rationals are better than Kaplan more SATA type questions on each quiz. However my average score after have answering 350 questions is 57% I am nervous about this score and not sure if I should re-scheduled my exam :unsure:!!! any suggestions?

I used uworld.com. I think it's a very good tool! Also used kaplan. Passed with 75 on 1-30-16

Hello!

I'm in need of opinions and advice. I will be taking the NCLEX RN for the first time in less than a week. I have both Kaplan and Uworld. However, I am only planning on focusing on reviewing Uworld since my test is in 6 days (with work in between), and I have very limited time and I learn more with Uworld's rationals. So, my question is, for those of you who have used Uworld, do you think that reviewing all the rational would be enough to pass the nclex? That along with reviewing the labs, and infection control? Also, are NCLEX questions worded the same as Uworld because I noticed that unlike Kaplan, Uworld gives more information in the questions. Kaplan questions are pretty short and not detailed. My average in Uworld second time redoing the questions is 64% my first time score was 56% Thanks for all your help!

I just took the NCLEX RN a few days ago. I won't be able to say if you should stick with one or the other, since I did both and am hopeful I passed (75 passing level, very hard questions). Who knows what worked?! I did study for 5 weeks, though, but maybe didn't need to...the testing experience is weird.

Anyway, I can say that the test looks exactly like the Uworld interface. Exactly, with exhibits, bolded words, and all. The test was very difficult for me, much like Uworld. Like obscure topics I, of course, didn't know to look up. Kaplan was actually quite easy compared, and the style of questioning would not have made me feel prepared if it had been my only study source.

I want to tell you to use both, because the more questions you do, the better prepared you are (I believe it!). I did 3600 questions!! But you only have a week. You can do a lot in a week, but have you been studying for a bit before now?

To answer you more specifically, I suggest reviewing rationales for every single question, right or wrong. I would look up topics in my books and online. It helped map it in my mind. Do make sure you know isolation precautions, PPE, and your med classes with common side effects. The test will definitely ask you to make a judgment call about medications. Yes absolutely know your labs values. All of them. I would have hated to sit with a question, unsure if a value was WNL or not. Knowing the labs turns a hard question into an easy one.

HI! Yes, I was studying for a month and a half here and there. But I'm was just so distracted. Plus, I work so on the days I work I only study for 2-3 hours and weekends a little more. But, I do feel that Uworld helped me understand and analyze the questions unlike Kaplan. Also, after doing Uworld questions, Kaplan became pretty easy and I was scoring 60s-70s.

You are right about doing more questions! I think it helps me remember the topic better when I do questions rather than memorizing notes or reading a book.
