Hello,
I have been using the saunders review and I have been doing questions and rationals for weeks now. I felt ready to take the NCLEX, I did really well on my school's exit HESI and Exit MEdsurge (HESI) tests. The problem is as soon as I scheduled my date...a few days from now...I now feel like I am not ready and I am beginning to be very anxious about taking the NCLEX. I have been sticking with the online material through Saunders. I did Download the free qbank app through kaplan and did 186 questions with an average score of 67%...any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

well i knew someone that used only saunders as a study guide failed nclex on their first attempt. HOWEVER i also knew a couple of people who used it solely and passed. the thing with saunders is that questions are content based and the nclex is far from that. I just took the nclex yesterday (saturday) and noticed that the multiple choice questions were very similar (format and questioning style) to kaplan and SATA qs were kind of similar with that of saunders.

What did you get on your exit hesi?
I got an 1150 and only did about 300-500 study questions from lippincott and passed with no problem.

i don't know anyone personally who has ONLY used saunders. I do know some who have used it in conjuntion with ATI or Kaplan and those ppl were sucessful on the first try. I am using saudners in conjunction with kaplan. Saunders seems a lot easier. I score from 58-66 on kaplan and more like 70-80 on saunders.

Hey I have recently given Nclex Rn and prepared only from Saunder's. I felt well prepared for it but unfortunately I didn't clear it I think Saunders is very easy and felt bad that I should have studied some questions too except from Saunders. My question s were SATA, prioritization, delegation. The content review I had didnt help me much

I strongly advise to do kaplan questions and La charity PDA questions. Saunders in my opinion is good for content review.

I know several nurses that solely relied upon Saunders and passed the NCLEX. I used Saunders along with 10 other sources because i was looking for variety and Saunders questions seemed too easy imo. Even if you can't afford other programs google "NCLEX 3500" (for the free program), or google free nclex questions........

I used hurst online review and lippincott q and a review. Studied for 1 week and passed NCLEX yesterday. I decided not to go crazy because I had done very well on all my hesi exams (99.9% almost every time) and got As in nursing school. Trust in the knowledge you have accumulated!
Wow sounds good. Congratz!!!
Our school did HESI and I got a 1115 on our final comprehensive. We also did the CAT exam and I got a minimally acceptable (was off of acceptable by 0.04 points) and I ended up with 155 questions. I found that I ended up changing answers for that one and got anxious when classmates got up to leave. So I guess it was a good thing I got that out of my system.
I went and took my test yesterday....stopped at 75. So the way I see this is either I passed or I FAILED so hard I should really just be proud of how exceptionally awesome I failed. I came home and tried the pearson vue trick (my state doesn't allow the quick results) and got the "Our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time" popup...I was actually on the phone with my friend who passed the NCLEX last year and she said oooo you passed!!!
So I haven't told anyone but her and I am waiting to see if I actually passed or not over the next few days. If I DID pass I will be posting about how I studied as well in case anyone else needs help.
Congrats!!!!!!
