Sooo I'm going to be a freshman in college this fall and i'm trying to pick out my classes. I was going to take English 1, College Algebra, Chem1 and A&P 1 (both with labs) and a mandatory freshman class which is mostly just like a study hall for a total of 17 credit hours. Would it be wise if I took Micro, Chem 1 and A&P 1 with labs in one semester instead? I won't be working or anything but I do have to commute on a train for about 30minutes which I think I can use as study time.
Tell me what you guys think or about your past experiences!
Can you tell me your study habits/any tips you have?
I basically read and re read and re read all powerpoints from lecture and chapters from the book. for micro lab i basically wrote every little thing we did down in my notebook and recorded what all results meant(ex. which dye is used to test for gram negative bacteria) That really helped me organize all the information in my brain. For chem i basically practice and practice using all the formulas every other day. I think anatomy and physiology and micro is basically memorization(not including labs) and i am very good at memorizing things. So my strategy is to organize all information on paper and then memorize it (literally word for word) This works for me and it feels good to walk in to a test and know every single answer to all the questions:) Studying is my life and i gave up college party's to maintain my grades.hopes this helps
How much did you study in a day on average? Did you take labs for those classes? Any studying/time-management tips?
For me i rotated my study days. The days I had chem i studied and practise after class for 2 hours and then switched to either micro or physiology for just about 4 hours and doubled up whenever i had a test. That semester I always had test in all my classed the same week and sometimes the same day:( definitely not easy but i managed .Like i said i gave up my life to study all the time and only worked friday -sunday until 1 pm then went back home to study.

Three science courses might be a bit much. I do see that you mentioned that you do not work. so you may have a lot of time to study but you need to know that those classes will be a lot of work and sometime when you take too many classes you set yourself up... I did that before i took 17 credits because i wanted to graduate with my associates by a certian time and i messed up in two of my classes which was accounting and computer programming. ugg two classes that i could not stand. But back to the point be careful and take your time. make sure that you focus on getting the highest grades in your classes.
GOOD LUCK
