Has anyone heard from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing for Fall of 2009?

Hi I applied to BHSN for fall of 2009 and I was wondering if anyone has been accepted yet. Good luck everyone!

Unfortunately I think those are the only letters they are sending out now, Got mine too!

I asked the Admissions Chairperson if she could let me know what I could do to increase my chances for being selected....

The applicant pool was very competitive this year and selection is

primarily based upon grades and your TEAS score. The Admissions

Committee does not give out any other type of information to applicants

regarding reasons for not being selected. We do not have a ranking for

the wait list. We review each file again as spaces open up.

--So then why do they call it a wait LIST? If they go by "grade and TEAS" don't they have to rank them somehow? I also asked why are photos needed (which is illegal) if there are no interviews of any kind and of course she did not respond.

Thanks Matt for the info. I was wonder the same thing. I'm gone look for something else to do this year and try next year at the community college system. I think it is more open, and they have ranking waiting list. Thanks anyway- Naj

Don't give up on your dreams.

Improve your Teas and apply to other schools.

You will get in.

I was waitlisted as well. Does anyone know if people generally make it in from the waitlist or do most people who are accepted choose to go there?

i got my letter a while back for NCC and BHSN... now I'm waiting on the $$ Award letters which will help me make my final decision.

i have heard of a few people that get in from the wait list.. so I would still probably make back up plans just incase...but it could still happen, sometimes not until the last minute

I officially declined my seat at BHSN. I'm sure some others will do the same for whatever reason. So I'm sure they will start pulling from the waitlist soon. Also those accepted to the CT CC programs had until today to respond, so they may start pulling from the waitlist soon.

Good luck to you. I was accepted to a CC program but not until Spring so I am starting at Bridgeport.

Thanks msdeannah, that was nice of you to let us know. I still have a little hope. I just wish they gave us a number so we had an idea, ya know? Oh well, I'm not going to get my hopes up too high, there is always next year.

I would call and try to make an appt. at BHSN.

That always seems to help.

They then know you are really interested.
