Hello everyone!
I just wanted to see if anyone else out there has applied to North Seattle CC's Fall 2011 lpn program and if they have heard anything back from the admissions committee. I am getting anxious about hearing from them
Thank you

I applied and haven't heard back yet. A friend that also applied was told by the department that they won't be sending out the acceptance emails until Aug 15th. They had 184 applicants and they were still doing HESI testing as of last week.
Good luck to you!

can i ask you what your gpa is and hesi score..thanks
4.0 GPA and 95% HESI score.
toucheturtle, do you happen to know if your score is the norm for the entering class of fall 2011 at North Seattle? If so, then I'm not sure that I really have a chance of getting in
I was told by one of the people in the Nursing Dept. office that the average scores for people who were accepted into nursing Fall 2010 at North Seattle CC were 3.91 GPA and 90% HESI. The lowest GPA for an accepted student was 3.7.
So I'd guess if you have a GPA lower than 3.91, then you'd probably need a HESI score above 90%, and vice versa.
If you're comfortable posting them, can I ask what your scores were?
I got a 95% on the HESI but my GPA is only a 3.5. Now I'm really nervous that I might not have the chance to get in since it seems like my grades are too low
You probably have a good chance of getting in with your HESI score. Or you might end up high on the alternate list.
I've heard that Fall quarter is harder to get into than Winter quarter. If you don't get in this Fall, you should try applying for Winter.
Yeah, If I don't get in this coming fall, I will try again for the winter quarter and also apply to other places. I tend to do fairly well on tests, so I might get lucky with Bellevue College
Toucheturtle, please let me know when you get in! Even if I don't, it's nice to hear that others have gotten in :)

I was given the same information as Toucheturtle and what I did (because I was thinking about it way too much) is combine both the GPA and test score into one score out of 100 by multiplying the GPA by 12.5 and dividing the test score by two. This gives the average student from last time a combined score of 93.875, I think. Your score would be 91.25. (You might want to do the math yourself, I'm not very good at math.) Toucheturtle has a 97.5.
Keep in mind, though, this is just comparing us to the last group. Hopefully a bunch of people this time round were discouraged by the 3.91 average GPA and decided not to apply.
If I don't get in I'm going to find the person who wrote the reading comprehension section of the test. That section was stupid!
By the way, Toucheturtle, is your name a fencing reference?
EDIT: By the way, I also got a 95% on the test. I hope the other 181 people who applied didn't get 95's!
LOL, totally agree with you Capp on the reading section. There were quite a few questions on that section where I really had to scratch my head to find the answer.
Yeah, I hope that we can all get in. At this point in time, there's just so many people that I have heard (both on this blog and just through the grapevine) say that it has become so hard to get in.
If you don't mind me asking, what did you guys think of the HESI overall? If there's quite a few of us that have gotten 95% scores, does that somehow mean that it's not as hard as, say, the TEAS? Will it really come down to GPA? The waiting is killing me!
Capp, if you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA? I'm sorry if I seem intrusive but I just want to have a feel for what the Fall 2011 cohort's entering GPA will be like.
