Has Anyone Ever Interview at Baker School of Nursing?

My friend's mom graduated from Baker a couple of years ago, I'll give her a call tommorrow when I get a chance.

I recently graduated from there in DEC '04! I loved the program, and was much happier there than a few of my friends who went to KU nursing. From what I remember about the interview, they just ask the basic questions - why you want to be a nurse... things like that. They don't ask any nursing specific questions, they're mostly just trying to get a feel for your personality, your work ethic... things like that. Sorry I can't remember anything more than that, it was a few years back. On a side note... I really enjoyed the program at Baker. Everyone in my class passed the NCLEX, only 2 people needed a second chance. All of us had jobs waiting for us when we graduated, which was awesome. good luck!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I started school two weeks ago so I've been pretty busy! My friends mom said the same thing as Sweeper. Just genral questions, not knowledge based or anything.

I wish I would've seen your thread earlier. I interviewed w/ Baker and have been admitted for Spring '07. The interview was really very basic, very low-key, which really balanced my anxiety. I'm sure by this point you've had your interview, but just in case. Wear a suit, period. Interviewees are to look upon it as a business interview. I could not believe the amount of girls who showed up wearing (can you believe it) khakis!! A couple even had tops that needed constant pulling as they were darn close to belly shirts. They give you an agenda for the afternoon. Everyone is split into two groups and of those groups each individual has their own timeslot in which to be interviewed. Mine were dressed very casually, which I thought odd. Although, this probably helped me feel more relaxed if not overdressed! Anyway, the questions are really very basic. Nothing you will need to study up on since the answers are all about you. For example, if you're interested in nursing, you know why the interest is there. All in all, I was quite comfortable. Very organized and thought-out.
