Midamerica Nazarene University (MNU) ABSN Spring 2020

Published

Thought I would start a feed for the MNU ABSN spring 2020 admission! Good luck!!!

I have been offered a spot for the Spring 2020 ABSN. I'm excited and looking here to find out more info about the program! I have until Sept 27th to return the paperwork.

Can anyone tell me the exact date that classes would start in March of 2020?

I'm waiting to hear back if I've been accepted! I'm nervous that I won't be accepted with a TEAS score of 78 and prereq. gpa 3.27. What were yours if you don't mind me asking? Trying to stay calm while I wait to hear back :)

My TEAS was 80 and my pre-req GPA is 3.4, so very similar to yours! Best of luck to you!

Anyone else out there get accepted into the Spring cohort? I don't know if the board has met yet, or when they plan to again, but it sounds like some are getting notified of acceptance which is great. Now it's just a waiting game for others.....

@lmock27 I was accepted September 23 I think? I applied during the summer (I think August) if that helps you! Sorry I don’t know more :/

@aklb465, thanks for your reply! I think my timeline is generally the same as yours, but I applied and was waitlisted for the August cohort. Now I’m worried my application didn’t process through to the spring cohort. I’ll be making some phone calls to MNU tomorrow. Thanks again for your prompt response and congratulations to you! Hope to see you in March!!

@lmock27 no harm in calling them! I also got my email/letter around Sept 23rd.

@hopefulgirl2017 do you live in Kansas, or are you relocating? I’m looking for a place to live and don’t know where to begin!

@hopefulgirl2017, thanks for the insight you provided. I actually just moved to Kansas City a few months ago and am getting to know the area better. Olathe would probably be cheaper and less distracting I bet! I thought maybe MNU would have a list of POCs for everyone to ask these sort of questions—maybe once the cohort in full is notified? I’ll keep an ear out! And I’ll definitely be calling and/or visiting campus tomorrow. Thanks!

I just had my nursingcas verified yesterday and I completed the internal application today. Im scared bc my calculated gpa turned out to be 2.99 wayyy lower than my actual GPAs. My pre req GPA last time I checked was 3.5-3.6 (I just need to take dev. psychology). My TEAS score was 76.7. Im so worried I just hope I hear back soon. The lady on the phone said the admissions team come together every few weeks and makes decisions. I just hope my personal statements and LORs can save me lol

@cezeuka, It sounds like you're in good shape! And congratulations on getting your application completed. I would just remain optimistic and do your best with psych. And yes, I've been told our personal statements do carry weight, so it sounds like you're set there, too. I hope we all hear back soon. Take care!
