Has anyone applied to St. Vincent's for Fall 09 nursing

Hi- I have applied to St. V's for their fall 09 nursing program, I was told that they have an admissions meeting at the end of this month. Has anyone else applied recently and are you waiting for a decision too?

Yes, I plan on taking a summer course too. I was leaning toward Sociology or Psychology 112?? I'm not sure which one... Maybe I'll look into the Ethics too!

Just got letter informing me that I need to take the Accuplacer Placement Test. I'm wondering if they checked my transcript from college that shows I took two courses in English, Stats and Calc II, of course this was about 7 years ago. Anyone have any experience regarding the test? Is this a good or bad thing for admissions?

Has anyone else received an acceptance from st. v's for the extended program for fall 09? and is anyone taking a course over the summer at st.v's?;)

Hi everyone! I am still waiting to hear back about my acceptance! I mailed my application in a few weeks ago.. I have contacted the admissions secretary, and she said my application was received and is complete, so I should be hearing in 2 weeks!! I am so nervous.. I hope that I get in!!

Have any of you attended the information sessions?? Was it beneficial to you? I am considering attending one of the next few coming up.. there is one in June I believe.

I had to email them last week to find out, and I was accepted into the Nursing program... for Fall of 2010 but am on the wait list '09. Received my letter earlier this week. I will just take my Gen. Ed courses until then. I still have to fulfill the Biology and Chemistry courses. SCSU's biology is booked up? Any suggestions?

I GOT ACCEPTED!!! woo hooo! Finally got my letter in the mail, such a relief! I got accepted into the extended program, but I have a lot of courses that I took at SCSU.. so I have to see if those will transfer! Anyone else starting this fall??

CTGuy - Have you looked at Gateway CC for their Bio and Chem?! I don't know where you are located, but I think any of the community colleges offer them this summer.

Quick question --

For those of you who have been accepted for fall 09.. are you CPR certified?? Do we have to hold a certification for when we start in the fall?

I have to start looking! I live in the Westbrook area.. anyone know of any programs?

The Red Cross in New Haven holds CPR and other classes regularly. Also, you might want to call Westbrook Ambulance (but not 911!) :wink2: and ask if they know of any in the area.

I have a question for all those who have been accepted. What was your G.P.A? I am waiting to hear from St. Vincent as well!

My GPA was 3.2

For the people that have been accepted into the extended program- what classes are you taking in the fall? I am starting with A&PI. I am also taking an online line course this summer at St.V's (lifespan).;)

Good luck to you all who got accepted. I just graduated May 15th from StV's college. I was accepted to the extended program. If I can answer any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me.
