Hi- I have applied to St. V's for their fall 09 nursing program, I was told that they have an admissions meeting at the end of this month. Has anyone else applied recently and are you waiting for a decision too?

i applied! i have no idea how long it takes to hear back. all i know is that they accept about 23% of applicants...scary. and because they have a 'rolling' admissions policy, i'll be biting my nails for a while :) are you going to any info sessions?
Hi Laur318- I have not been to any info sessions, I was supposed to go to one back in Nov. but they cancelled it. Are you transferring any credits from other colleges? I am transferring from housatonic w/algebra,chem,soc and eng 101. I am currently in St. V's MSA program (certificate) until April. From what I've been told they have an admitting meeting every month, and the acceptances/rejections are sent out the day after the mtg. I hope that I get in!!!! Good luck to you too!!!!:)
thanks for the info! how do you like being at st. vincent's??? have you talked to any nursing students about their likes/dislikes of this program? i am transferring from gateway & housatonic my algebra, eng 101 (& 102 if they take it), soc, psych 101 & 201, intro to bio and chem.
do you know if the meetings are the same time every month? im hoping they at least let me in for the extended program :)
The admissions director told me that sometimes they met twice a month, however this month they will only meet once. As of last week they hadn't met yet (I just got all of my paperwork in on thur). They will take up to 18 credits from other colleges. I have applied to the part time program, so I can work and take care of family. If I get in-- I will need to take A&PI and II and micro first. How far are you from St. V's?
Also, I have spoken to nurses and students at St. V's and they all say that the program is very good and intense. The nurses in the hospital are very nice and don't mind answering questions. In the MSA program, I have been in the hospital for the past month, working with the phlebotomist's and in the telemetry room and on the floors- visiting patients. All of the staff are very helpful and experienced. I really enjoy it.:)

I am currently a nursing student, graduating in May this year. I cannot wait. I am in the part time program and loving it. If I can help any of you, let me know.
Hi Ester, Can you tell me what your schedule is like? How soon did you have an answer after applying? Thank you!
I applied back in 2004 and got accepted to the extended program. Prior to been accepted, I retook Intermediate algebra, English 101 and Chemistry at Housatonic. By then, there was not long waiting list, just it took like a month for me to hear from them.
The schedule is different each semester. Last semester, I had lecture Monday evening, Assessment on Thursday and Clinical Saturday from 7:30-2:30pm. This semester, I have class Wednesday night from 5-9:30, clinicals thursday and saturday.
