Has anyone applied to St. Vincent's for Fall 09 nursing

Published

Hi- I have applied to St. V's for their fall 09 nursing program, I was told that they have an admissions meeting at the end of this month. Has anyone else applied recently and are you waiting for a decision too?

Your welcome. The reason I hadn't heard anything was because I did my app online and didn't pay the fee, but just for attending the info session, the $50 fee was waved. I had to submit my high school and UCONN transcripts and a letter of recommendation. They were all sent today, so wish me luck! The orientation was very informative!

Thanks for sending me the good luck, milfordmama! I GOT IN!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!! I was accepted to the Extended Program. Since I already took A&P I,II and Micro, I have to take a challenge exam. Wish me more luck because Iwill need it. Did you get admitted directly or Extended program as well? I'm psyched!!!!:yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:

CONGRATZ, Ventgurl !!!! YEAH!!!!:yeah::yeah::yeah: I hope that you pass the exam as well, so you won't have to take A&P's and micro over again. I was accepted to the extended program as well. I have not taken A&P 1 and 2 or micro, so that is where I will start in the fall. When do you get to take the exam??? let me know what happens-Good luck!:)

I have to send in my $$, then schedule a meeting with them. All of my non nusrsing courses are done. Apparently 75% of your nursing degree has to be taken @ St. V's. After challanging A&P I and II and Micro, I'll have to take Ethics and Religion. I'll let you know how things turn out!

to you guys that were calling to follow up... did you just call the admissions office? I wanted to call to make sure my application was considered complete, but I can never get anyone on the phone... I mean ever...

Msdeannah- I just kept on calling until she picked up the phone herself. As far as my application - I emailed her and asked if it was complete- she tends to answer emails a little quicker and you have everything in writing. If you don't stay on top of them, your application could get lost and you wouldn't know about it until a few weeks went by. With my application- my transcripts were sent from new haven board of ed. New haven said that it would take 2 days to get to st.v's- so I called st.v's in 2 days to verify and good thing I did because st.v's never received the transcripts. I had to call new haven board of ed. and have them resend the paperwork and I called st.v's in 2 more days to verify receipt of transcripts and finally they got them. I was very persistant. When I found out that I was accepted into the extended program, I went to st.v's the next day and put down my deposit, shirley said that I was the first one to pay their deposit. Hope this helps.:)

I guess I can't use first and last names on this post, it's the admissions secretary that you need to call or email,.:)

Hi! I was accepted to the St. Vincent's Extended Program for Fall 2009 too! I am so excited! I actually teared-up when I received the acceptance letter!! Now, I'm nervous; I hear it's tough. I am finishing up some core classes at HCC this semester and have managed to maintain a 4.00 GPA there but I think St. V's is a whole new playing field. I work full-time and can't quit my job so part-time is my plan at this point. Good Luck!!!!!!! Hope to see you there!

CONGRATZ !!!!! Starbrite07:yeah::yeah::yeah: I have been accepted into the extended program also, I can't wait. What courses are you taking at HCC? I took all of my prereq's there too!!!! chemistry was a killer- the teacher and I weren't a good fit, but I still managed a B. We'll have to keep each other updated on teachers- are you taking A&PI in the fall?:typing

Hi milfordmama,

I have taken Algebra, English 101, Psychology, and now I'm in Biology and Chemistry at the same time. Ugh! I have no choice though since I have to have both completed for SVC. I really don't like Chemistry...at all! I love Biology though. Both my teachers are really good, I'm just not digging Chemistry. I am somehow maintaining a really good GPA but I don't have much fun right now. :bluecry1: All I do is study and work. I am really excited to be moving on to SVC in the fall. Yep, I am taking A&PI in the fall. Please lets keep each other updated; it's nice going into this knowing that other people are going through the same.

Starbrite07- I'm thinking about taking Ethics at St.v's this summer. It would lighten my work load for the fall and I think that since it is not a science or math course that I could do OK in a condensed course over the summer. Will you be taking any courses this summer?:wink2:
