Hello everyone,
I just got accepted for Spring 2012 at SRJC and Fall 2011 for COM if anyone out there has information that can help me decide what to do I would really appreciate it. I want to attend the school that is going to give me the best experience and the greatest chance of finding employment upon grad. Thanks everyone and congrats to all who got in

Maybe go to the BRN CA website and see which school has a higher pass rate for the NCLEX. I know SRJC has a pretty good one. Keep in mind most hospitals are moving away from hiring ADN RN's so you will more then likely have to immediately get your BSN. So see if either school has a bridge program to a close CSU or UC, and if one does and one doesn't you should take the school who has the bridge program. I think SRJC has one with Sonoma State. Hospitals is New York are no longer hiring ADN's and I know alot of hospitals in CA that already have that implimented and others are moving toward it, most likely reaching te decision to not hire ADN's by the time you graduate. I am not trying to scare you, but it's what is going on now. So a bridge program should be a big part in your decision on what school to go to. Hope this helps!
Thank you for the advice. I plan on doing the bridge program at Sonoma State which is willing to work with either school. I am very aware that BSN is the way to go and plan on completing that as quickly as possible. I appreciate all feedback and will continue to look at what school will be a better choice. The JCs program has a higher and more consistent pass rate for the NCLEX. I have heard that COM has a NLNAC accreditation and JC does not. I am not sure how important this is and how much it will effect me in the future. Anyone who is a nurse know?
WOW so excited to see so many who got in on this web site. Jbr how did you get a physical done so quickly? Do you have to do it with your regular Dr. or is there some other place it can be done? Getting an appt with my primary care physician takes forever and I am a little nervous about that. Someone told me that this long list of things to do in two weeks is the way they start weeding people out of the program that are not serious or ready.
I got into UC East Bay also but I am going to the JC for sure. I know 3 people who graduated from the JC and all had good things to say.
Also wondering if anyone has looked at the book list yet? Anyone planning on finding the books themselves to save money? Or it may be better just getting them from the bookstore to save the time and headache when there is so much other stuff to do and worry about.
Congrats to all again, see you soon
Crystal
Congrats to all of you were accepted! I also received an acceptance for this Fall. Wow...they sure make you get on top of things; all the paperwork is due so quickly. Those of you who did not make it, please keep your hopes up. I know how hard it is to get bad news, but it will work out. I am taking the TEAS exam tomorrow!!!!!!!
